(A/N: Hey guys! I always try to make these A/N's interesting, but if I'm being quite honest my life is very boring right now as I'm on spring break. I'M BORED. SEND HELP. Lol. No, I have so many requests on Tumblr I can't be considered remotely bored. Oh well. Remember to eat something, drink some water and take your meds! Love you!)

Prompt: 'I'm fed up of your stupid games.'

Y/N made her way down the corridors of Cair Paravel, still a bit startled by being summoned to the High King's chambers. It was rumored that not even the servants were allowed in there, which worried the girl all the same. Why would she be the exception?

The High King and noblewoman had been interested in one another for some time now. They didn't find it necessary to skirt around the fact that they did in fact like each other, though it was evident to most that King Peter was making more effort in the relationship than Y/N. She acted no differently around him than she did around any other man in public, while he visibly relaxed in a way he only did around his siblings.

Y/N had wondered when he would break it off, whatever they had. She knew that she wasn't easy to deal with on a romantic level, for she seemed to have trouble differentiating the kinds of behavior one used towards someone they liked and someone they didn't. Many suitors had dismissed her for easier girls in the past, and while she really couldn't blame them, it did always manage to sting a little bit.

When Y/N knocked on Peter's door, only then did she begin to feel herself coil back into the rather emotionless shell she put on when a situation was daunting or bound to be uncomfortable.

"Hi," Peter greeted as he opened the door. He had planned to be a bit more cold in his opening to reflect how she acted towards him on any opportunity she got, but he melted right back into the puppy-like mentality he had around her.

"Hello," Y/N replied. She could see a fraction into his office, and by a glance further his bedroom, and she wondered if anyone else had ever been in there. "You wanted to speak with me?"

"Yes." Peter let her into his office, which was kept surprisingly clean despite not being tended to by a maid. "I wanted to speak to you about our relationship."

Y/N sighed inwardly. Here it comes.

"I have begun to wonder if I am more devoted to it than you are," he said. "And I am trying desperately to keep my voice from rising, because honestly this has been a concern of mine for quite some time."

"Peter, I-" she started weakly.

"No, I really want to know, Y/N." Peter sat down at his desk, fidgeting with the hair tie Susan had given him to mess with when he got worked up. "I want to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if you just don't want to be with me and that's why you are refraining from showing nearly any emotion towards me. And if this is just you having a laugh, then I can assure you that I am not laughing and I'm tired of your stupid games."

"My lord, while I have been told previously that I am a poor judge of attractions deemed platonic and ones deemed romantic, personally I am certain in the fact that the feelings that I feel for you are the latter."
