"Light Yagami is acting as Kira again." L told us.

"I'm not Kira!" Light shouted.

"Yes you are!" L shouted back.

"Is that all you have to say? Or yell, rather. What happened to your cool estimating probabality percentage bullshit?" Light mocked him.

"Why, did you miss me saying that?"

"No! But I could hardly forget. God, you're such a wanker!" Light shouted at L again as L kind of jumped and kicked him in the face.

I moved in between them and slapped Light.

"What are you doing?!" L asked me.

"You just kicked him in the face. Why shouldn't I slap him?" It seemed logical to me.

"But he's my boyf - he's my friend - I know him!" L was exasperated.

Mello grabbed me and pulled me back again.

"Will you stop it?" He hissed at me.

"Get your crazy bitch away from me! I'm not Kira!" Light started again.

"Light-kun..." L held a finger up but trailed off.

"Yikes, you could cut it with a knife." I observed out loud.

L turned to me. "Cut what?"

"The sexual tension." I pointed between him and Light.

Light looked horrified, while L simply responded with a thoughtful "Huh," and began chewing his thumb.

Just then the door opened, Mello looked and his face contorted with rage. I looked behind me to see a small guy dressed in white, with white hair and an armful of toys.

"Fucking sheep." That was Mello of course.

"Hello Near. It's like a Wammy's reunion." L said.

I looked at Light. "I feel left out, do you?"

"I guess."

"Want me and Light to disappear for a bit?" I asked the room in general.

"No!" Mello and L both said together.

L instictively reached out to touch Light's arm. Light looked down at L's hand on his arm, then looked up into his eyes.

There was a long moment of silence. Then Light spoke softly.

"I want to stay with L."

L's face lit up and he took Light's hand.

"But I'm still not Kira."

"Yes you are."
