I sat at the kitchen counter with a drink. Mello had gone to see Near. It seemed everyone turned to Near these days.

I'd let Y/N down. I'd introduced her to Mello, let her fall for him and marry him. I had brought her into our lives and then I failed to notice whatever the hell was going on in her mind.

I'd heard them fight, a lot, but it's Mello, he fights with everyone eventually. If anything, it was more concerning that he hadn't fought with her until recently.

I should have prepared her, but, I don't know. I thought she was handling it. They had their fights but then they were all over each again, so I thought they were ok. She had seemed like such a strong badass bitch.

And when I'd asked, she said she was fine. How could I have known? But I should have. This is all so fucked up.

I put my head in my hands and cried. I'm sorry Y/N.
