Ressler.
It didn't take long after the resolution of Liz's trial that we were back in business, the first case we got from Reddington shook me up a little. Just the thought of Red having an impostor was unsettling, if he wasn't who he said he was, then who have we been working with this past years?
Have I been stupid enough to think we had him and he was out there this whole time?
After I bought this fake Red to the blacksite and we were going through his information to see what exactly he knew, I had time to squeeze lunch downtown. I called Mags and told her to meet me at the cafe she usually hung out and asked for lunch for both of us.
When I got there, she was already sitting inside, since it was beginning to get chilly outside. I entered and gave her a smile as I sat down.
She'd gotten new reading glasses, and if she wasn't the hottest goddamn thing on this Earth, then I didn't know what was.
She placed her hand on mine and turned her upper body to me.
"Busy day?" She asked, placing her cheek on her closed fist and leaning on the table.
"Confusing day"
I'd like to think that if someone would know if Red was the real one, it would be her.
"Do you think Red has an impostor?"
She shrugged her shoulder and gave me a little frown.
"Sometime you wear a normal shirt for two days in a row and I think you might be an impostor"
She finally got a smile out of me as I twisted my eyebrows in amusement, she always managed to bring me back to reality after things got crazy.
We got served a fast and light lunch, seeing that I still had to go back to work after this.
While we were eating I fished a little card out of my pocket and handed it to her.
"What's this" she said taking it and reading the information on it.
"Reddington gave it to me a few days ago, for you"
I was so not happy with that card when it first came to me.
Reddington randomly intercepted me in my morning run and handed me the card, saying that it was a job he had arranged for Mags. Since he didn't wanted to make any further contact with Mags, he handed it to me instead. And I was glad he was finally going away from her life, Maggie had gotten into so much crap because of him.
Before I handed the card to Mags and while I still had spare time between cases, I researched this supposed job and it turns out it was legit. The architect firm was legit, the boss was as clean as he could be, it was in DC, all the workers were aquainted for, and after I did my research on everyone, I figured I could let Mags have this job a shot.
I, of course, didn't mention Mags I had used Bureau instruments to investigate this firm and confirm she was safe, and I also didn't wanted to be overprotective and borderline controlling with her work. But after what happened last time, after what she goes through everyday when working with Red, I want to make sure she's not in any kind of danger while working there.
