Ressler.
As soon as we exited the elevator I pulled Mags gently towards my office, Cooper was on duty and Aram was in his computer station. Cooper called for a medic to tend on Maggie, and when I made sure she was being taken care of, I exited my office and walked to Cooper.
Reddington had joined us and so had Navabi. Even though we weren't on friendly terms, I appreciated she had stepped forward to help.
"What do we know?" Cooper asked me. I was still a little messed up, and for some reason I felt like I wasn't in my skin, coming all dirty to work.
"A few days ago Maggie mentioned a meeting with a former client, I took the liberty to ask Reddington for his knowledge on the underworld. Out of a list of names he recognized two. The first one was intercepted along with another task force two days ago. I didn't expect the remaining client would do such a thing as raiding her house to take her down"
I looked behind me to Mags, and how a medic was scraping her shoulder out of blood and casings.
"We need to know what she was working on, find that job to narrow down on Rupia, if he sees his assets getting attacked, he'll come to us" Cooper said.
The doctor that was tending on Mags pulled back and exited the office, she walked to us while she hung her stethoscope on her neck.
"She's stable, the cuts and bruises on her arm and leg are just that, cuts and bruises. Her gravest injury is her deafness, caused by the shotgun blast on her proximity. No sign of shock or trauma. She'll recover nicely"
I nodded at her, giving her a soft thank you while she turned around and left, I paced the office with both my hands on my hips
"I'm sorry for putting her through this, Agent Ressler" Cooper said to me "but we need her information to stage a plan of action on how to handle this"
I just nodded, knowing that he was right. Maggie needed to tell us everything, see if we weren't to late on the party and try to smoke him out.
I walked in my office where the nurse was finishing up on her leg, it also had been caught in the gunfire and she had cuts in it as well.
"You'll need to speak a little loud to her, she won't hear you otherwise" the nurse said when she stood up.
While she gathered her things I kneeled next to Mags, placing my hand on her knee and rubbing it. Her eyes met mine and she gave me a weak smile.
"Maggie I need you to-" I began, but the look of horror on her face made me stop. Her eyes moved frantically over mine while she shook her head
"I can't hear you" she yelled at me, leading her hand to touch her ear "my ears, they're buzzing."
I made a gesture for her to calm down and picked up a notepad on my desk, quickly writing on it.
"It was the shotgun blast, it'll go away tomorrow" I turned it to her, she read the line and nodded, swallowing hard. "Pablo Rupia" I wrote again, showing the pad to Maggie.
She frowned and shook her head a little
"What's that-" I motioned at her to lower her voice a little "what's that have to do with anything?" She said now in a normal tone. "Is this.... About me?"
"The jobs" I said loud enough for her to make out what I was saying "I need you to write them down" I motioned at the pad, handing it to her and giving her a pen.
