Y/n continued to fiddle with a spoon as the hot summer night went on. She started to try and balance it on its end on the hard wooden table.

"Steady."

Y/n slowly took her hands away from the now balancing spoon, eyes lighting up as she saw that she succeeded. The metal spoon was now perfectly standing on its end, reflecting the overhanging light onto the table. Y/n mouthed the word, yes, as she continued to watch it. She didn't dare speak a word in fear that it might come crashing down.

Suddenly, a certain Russian came walking into the dining room, her mind was elsewhere as she held a seemingly small phone to her face. She continued to talk to one of her friends as she turned the corner, hitting the table with her side.

And sure enough, the spoon came toppling down the second it was greeted with enough force to embrace gravity again. Y/n swore in German under her breath as she grabbed it once more to try it again.

Y/n wasn't usually the one to eavesdrop on Zarya's conversations, she knew that Zarya's private business was private and should stay that way. However, when Zarya started to shift from Russian and English in a rather hostile tone, she knew she just had to know what was going on.

Pretending to be occupied, y/n continued to balance the spoon as she kept her ears perked during the conversation.

Of coarse since y/n could only speak her native tongue and English, she couldn't decipher what she was saying during a few choice words. She could however, pick up a couple in English that were draped with her Russian including something about a weight lifting event, sometimes and the day Wednesday.

Y/n furrowed her brow as she continued to listen from the wooden table. She couldn't quite put her finger on what she was actually saying to her friend, but that wasn't going to stop her from listening in.

"Listen, I know you rolled your ankle, but at least be there for the competition."

Zarya had toned it down a few notches and let her voice soften a little bit, she wasn't mad at the other person but just wanted their support. And y/n didn't mind at all that her voice got softer.

Suddenly y/n let the spoon slap back on the table and hid their face from Zarya's view. She absolutely LOVED it she Zarya let herself roll her R's ever so slightly, it made her feel so happy and giggly on the inside.

As she cupped her face she heard Zarya say her goodbyes to her friend and turn off her phone. Y/n could hear Zarya walking on the tile floor, getting closer to y/n.

Suddenly, she felt a soft and gentle hand on her shoulder, it was Zarya merely trying getting y/n's attention.

"Y/n, what are you up to? And why do you have a spoon?"

As Zarya pointed to the utensil on the table y/n tried her best to hide her now beat red face. But it didn't take long for the Russian to notice this sudden change in skin tone, she raised an eyebrow and spoke once more, "Y/n."

Zarya let out a hardy laugh as she spoke her name, "What is with your face? It is as red as a tomato and I never did anything to make you blush."

Y/n giggled once more when Zarya said the word red, she rolled it again making the word sound so pretty and perfect.

The goofiest face fell upon y/n's face as she fiddled with her hands. Zarya waited for an explanation from her love.

"Well..." y/n said as she awkwardly scratched the back of her head, "The way you pronounce certain words sound really... Pretty and I like it a lot."

Y/n was now redder than ever, she was expecting to have Zarya laugh at her, or say it was stupid.

"Which words?"

This threw y/n off guard, she turned to see Zarya with one eyebrow lifted as she leaned against the table.

Y/n giggled at her as she responded, "Well... I am a very big fan of the words with R's at the beginning, it rolls a lot and it sound really pretty."

Zarya let out a soft laugh as she put her two elbows on the table, leaning toward y/n.

"Like, roses, role, run, running?"

Y/n let the goofiest grin pop up on her face, her blush once again returned, redder than ever.

"Yes, those words."

Zarya let out a chuckle as she quickly swiped y/n out of her chair and started to carry her. While she was walking her around the house she continued to name off other words emphasizing the R's.

"Rabbit, Russia, rum, rooster, radio."

Y/n started to giggle and laugh really hard during the whole ordeal causing Zarya's smile to widen, she then planted a kiss on her for head and continued.

"Y/n, if it makes you happy I will say all the R words in the English dictionary just to see that smile every time."

Y/n quickly wrapped her arms around Zarya's neck, kissing Zarya's face and neck hundreds of times before speaking.

"I love you."

Zarya let out a hum before continuing.

"I Love you too y/n."
