Fic title: Maid With Love.

Y/N's POV

Just because I was in the middle of a killing game didn't being I couldn't be nice to my girlfriend.
Kirumi Tojo and I had been dating for a while. Nobody really minded, nobody really cared, since they were all focussed on the aforementioned killing game.
When Rantaro and Kaede died, Tojo had been absolutely amazing to me - she comforted me, helped me clean my ever-cluttering dorm, sat with me and listened to me vent. In return, I learnt how to clean (properly and quickly) and just showed her mutual love.
Murder never changed much for us.
Then, one evening, she wasn't in her dorm room.
I'd frowned since it was the night of our three-month anniversary. I'd recruited the help of Gonta, Kiibo and Himiko to think of the perfect gift.
We settled on flowers - classy, sweet and romantic - and figured that she'd appreciate them. As a bonus I added a little tag: 'maid with love'. Yes, she could be extremely serious, but at the same time we both loved a good pun.
I took my bunch of white roses and left my dorm, adjusting my (bowtie/necklace/formal accessory of your choice) and tried to stay calm. No, Kirumi was smart, she wouldn't let herself get into trouble, no less on our anniversary.
She's too sweet to kill, motive video and flashback lights be damned.
She was too sweet to kill.
I trudged through the dull corridors, past the Ultimate Labs and the like, until I heard Kirumi's voice.
It was late, quiet enough for the words to be heard.
Then, a whack.
Ryoma's Lab.
I darted in their in a flash, rattling the doorknob and bursting in uninvited.
There, stood, bloody and dazed, was Kirumi Tojo, the SHSL Maid.
She gave me a long, distanced look. "L-L/N, I didn't—"
The shock ebbed away into panic, and from that panic came reckless actions.
"Kirumi Tojo, listen very carefully. You have to get away with this, okay? Okay, here's what you're going to do: hide Ryoma's body in the piranha tank, yeah? We can frame someone. You can get away with this."
"Y/N L/N, you will die. I did this for my people, and you are one of those people. I must... We must escape together. Monokuma may be willing to barter, yes?"
Then, the monochrome toy appeared in a poof of smoke. "You called?" He chuckled.
"Monokuma, please, listen to us—"
"Kirumi committed the crime, Kirumi pays the price."
"I-I know, but—"
"Y/N helps the culprit, Y/N adds intrigue to the game, Y/N goes free with Kirumi."
"Okay, so—"
"Both of you mess up the trail, both of you'll get punished. I made myself clear, didn't I?"
Kirumi nodded. "Yes, but—"
"Welp, happy killing!"
He disappeared almost as soon as he appeared.
"Ugh, that damned bear." I huffed.
"Wait, no, we have a chance of surviving together. We'll be free, Y/N." She held my hand firmly.
"Wait, Tojo, before you take the body..." I pecked her on the cheek. "Happy anniversary."Tojo took the flowers gratefully. "We'll both live to see our relationship thrive, I promise you."
Then she was gone.

—Timeskip to trial—

Shuichi had pieced together the impossibly complex puzzle that was both mine and Kirumi's murder. After the closing argument had subsided, I was the one who pushed her off of the podium to start running.
And she ran.
She down the corridor, much to Monokuma's amusement, and soon I felt the cold choking metal clasp around my neck, dragging me backwards, up and up and barely breathing.
Kirumi ran to the bottom, being chased by people with signs. I was above her, watching a thick thorn-covered vine roll down from the ceiling.
She was the only hope I had.
In an instant she was climbing, thorns poking through the backs of her hands, pink blood everywhere, buzzsaws whirring in a frenzy.
She went to grab my shoe when I felt her grip loosen, the sicking snap of the vine breaking in two as I felt the world go black.
The thud of my girlfriend's body against the ground.
In my last moments I saw a bouquet placed upon her by Monodam.
Maid with love.
