Peter was throwing flour all over the walls, frosting being spread everywhere. Shuri and Harley walked in, they were discussing something about mechanics when they spotted the bizarre thing Peter was doing.
"What the actual hell?" Shuri asked. Peter turned to them.
"Oh! Hey guys!" Peter waved with the hand that wasn't covered in blue frosting.
"Why?" Harley asked, though it sounded more like a statement than a question.
"I was about to say the same thing." Shuri crossed her arms.
Tony walked in for a brief moment before immediately walking out.
"Well, it's kind of a long story." Peter shrugged.
"Oh trust me, we have time." Shuri told him. "Do tell."
"So I was talking to Friday because I was lonely and everyone was busy." Peter started. "And we somehow segwayed into a conversation about how attractive she would be if she wasn't an AI."
"Oh, this should be good." Miles said, popping up and sitting on the couch.
"Where did you even--"
"The air vents." Miles responded before Harley could even finish his sentence. "Ran into Clint, he was looking longingly at a picture of a pomegranate." Miles recalled. "But that's not important right now."
"That's weird." Peter said, whilst throwing some whipped cream at the walls. "So anyway, I was saying that she would be very pretty as a person but she said that she probably wouldn't be."
"I wanna see how this ends with him throwing frosting at the walls." Shuri said, sitting down next to Miles.
"So then we started arguing about this topic, and she eventually went from 'I probably would be average' to 'I'd be butt ugly' and I wasnt about to have any of that." Peter shook his head and z-snapped. Harley silently took a seat on the other side of Miles.
"So I told her she would be a snacc." Peter said. "And she wasn't sure what I meant by that and then I had to explain it. Then she told me to prove that she was a snacc and that lead to this." Peter gestured to the walls.
"I still by my argument." Friday stated in a condescending tone.
"You better nOT--" Peter began before he was interrupted by Miles shooting a web over Peter's mouth.
"There, now you won't argue anymore. Problem solved." Miles shrugged and stood up, leaving the room.
A/N:
Alright, you can skip the rest of the chapter if you want. It's mostly just explaining Darius and who he is and his relationship with Susie.
*
I sighed as I looked at the giant wall covered in frosting. I had to clean this entire thing, all by myself.
Since there is literally no one else who works here (unless you wanna submit OCs to apply for positions) I have to take care of everything. Susie has to deal with Ms. Scott when she has her little "fits" and "mood swings", meanwhile I have to deal with angry characters, repairing the fourth wall (yeah that's right, the person you've been sending to rebuild the wall has been me this whole time), and dealing with messes. None of the characters bother to try and help, and Susie is too busy to help.
If I asked Ms. Scott for more help, I feel like she would have to put in an unnecessary amount of effort to make me a friend. Someone having to go through trouble to make me happy always ends up making me guilty in the end, so I just keep my mouth shut. It's hard working all by myself, y'know?
But one time...
"Hey Darius!" Susie walked in.
"Susie? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be working?" I asked, tilting my head as I cleaned up the mayhem left behind after Randon Chapter.
"Well I have a little bit of spare time and I just wanted to say," Susie handed me a bottle of water. "I know your job is hard, and I just wanted to let you know that I think you're so strong for doing it by yourself." She smiled sweetly.
"SUSIE!"
"Oh! That's my que to leave! See you later!" She waved before scurrying out of the room. I tried to wave back but I couldn't feel my arms. The only thing I could feel was the heat in my cheeks.
It was such a small act but that was the day I fell in love with Susie, as cheesy as that sounds.
But she sees me as a friend. Last time I tried to date her ended in complete and utter humiliation.
Honestly, should I just give up on her?
The real question is, can I even give up on her?
Ah, but that doesn't really matter. Right now, the only thing I should be focused on is cleaning.
That seems to be the only thing I'm good for.
