"What is it?!" Jake asked excitedly. I swear, he can go from 0 to 100 in a snap. "I'll tell you when they get back over here. "Hey guys!" He yelled across the room. "Jake!" I exclaimed. "Stop!" He shrugged. "What?" Corey and Brennen had looked over and he waved them back to the table. I groaned. "You couldn't have waited a few more minutes?" I asked. He shrugged. "What's the big deal? You got something to say so now you can say it." Brennen and Corey made their way back over to the table. "What's up Jake? I was winning! This better be important." Corey said, pouting. They sat down, Corey next to Sam and Brennen between me and Sam at the end of the table. "Colby has something to tell us and wanted you guys to get over here." Jake replied, leaning his chair back. I was kind of wanting it to fall at the at moment. "You b*tch, I said they could wait. You just couldn't wait." I exclaimed. Jake smiled, his dimples popping out. "Yeah, okay, so what? Now you can tell us." One corner of my mouth turned up in a half grin and I shook my head. I looked at Sam and he just motioned with his hand, like get it over with. I took a deep breath. "I asked Y/N to marry me and she said yes." I rushed it out in breath. It's a wonder they even understood me. Corey's eyes got huge and a big grin spread across his face. "Brooo! You did what?" Brennen slapped me on the back and smiled. "I'm happy for you brother. I was wondering when you were going to grow some balls and do it. Didn't think it would be this soon but hey," He shrugged. "Whatever you wanna do." "Wait, what happened?" Jake spoke up. "Did you not hear what he said Jake?" Corey asked, his face still the persona of surprised. Jake shook his head. "No, I zoned out." "How do you always do that? You are literally right here, right beside Colby and you don't hear the biggest news that he's ever told us?" "I don't know! Can you just tell me please?" Corey reached across the table and patted Jake's hand. "It's okay brother. Listen closely okay? Colby" He pointed to me. "Asked Y/n" he moved his hand in waves near his head, indicating long hair. "To MARRY him" He pointed to his ring finger. "What?! Brother, are you serious?" I nodded, laughing at their interaction. So far, everything was good. "Why?" Jake asked. "What do you mean why brother? I love her." "Yeah, I love Tara but I'm not asking her to marry me." "Jake.." Sam interjected. "No offense bro, but think about you and then think about Colby. We know that you aren't ready for marriage but Colby has been ready since he was 15, I think. That's all he's ever wanted is someone to love him for him. Now he has that." I looked at Sam, kind of reeling from what he had said. Sometimes I think he might know me better than I know myself. "Yeah, but it's gonna mess up the brotherhood if you get married." His voice got a little whiny. I narrowed my eyes, and shook my head. "How? I don't know when we are getting married for one but we are still going to live together in our apartment. Literally nothing is changing except for a piece of paper." "Noooo, you're wrong Colby." Brennen said. "What do you mean?" I asked, glancing back at him. "You're gonna have an old ball and chain now. You'll have to listen to what she says, pick up your dirty clothes, ask permission to do things." I rolled my eyes. "First, we talk things over and listen to each other. She already yells at me about my dirty clothes, and we don't ask permission. We check to see if it's okay with the other. Don't you do that with Serena?" I looked at Corey. "Or you with Dev?" To Jake. "With Tara?" To Sam. "And with Kat?" I let my gaze travel from one face to the next. "You guys already to the same things in your relationships so what's so different about getting married." I was getting a little upset, because I was happy and they were trying to make me see the bad side of things. I guess they noticed. "Bro, calm down. I was just f*cking with you." Brennen said. "My main concern is will it mess up Brolby?" I kind of smiled at him but my eyes were on Jake and Corey. "Well?" I said, raising my eyebrows. Corey smiled at me, his brown eyes lighting up. "Colby, you do you brother. She's the one. Even I can see it." "So you don't think we're too young or whatever?" I asked him. He shrugged. "Not if you're ready and she's ready. Dev and I...we just got together young and we've gotten comfortable with how things are. I'm sure marriage will pop up eventually tho. I love that girl. Is she your Devyn Colby?" His voice got a little louder and his face got stern. He was messing with me. I leaned forwards and made my own face stern. "She's my Devyn Corey!" I said loudly. "Then you lock it down Brother! You marry that girl! You get your Devyn Colby." He hit the table with the palm of his hand. I laughed. "Thanks Brother." I looked at Jake. He waved his hand at me and smiled. "Just don't let it mess up the brotherhood, brooothhheeerr." We all laughed and then Sam raised his glass. "To Y/N and Colby. May your love last forever." "Thanks Samuel." He winked at me and we all raised our glasses for a toast. That wasn't so bad, I thought, raising my glass to my lips. "Who would've guess that Mr. Forever Alone over there would be the first one married?" Corey said, sipping his drink and looking around the room like he didn't say it. We laughed with Brennen replying "Daaaaammmn, Why you gotta do Colby like that?" "No, I agree. I never saw it happening.
