"That wasn't me!" I cried, after my mom had everyone in tears telling the story of when "I" had tried to talk to my crush at my birthday party when I was 13. "She opened her mouth to speak to him and the world's largest burp erupted from some God awful place inside of her. The poor boy didn't know what to do so he just turned around and walked away." My mom was in actual tears. "Actually? I haven't heard this!" Colby exclaimed. "That's because it wasn't me!" I repeated. Serena was throwing daggers at me with her eyes, shaking her head a little. I grinned. "It was S." "NO, it wasn't! That was you!" I rolled my eyes at her. "Stop, you know it was you. It was my birthday party, but you were the one that let that burp rip out in Brian's face." "Okay, I actually think that was you." Brennen replied, grinning wickedly at her. Her mouth fell open. "What? Why?" "Because you do that to me now." Everyone laughed and she folder her lips in, trying to hide her smile. She huffed and sat back on the couch. "Okay, fine...it was me." My mom shrugged. "Sorry, I can't keep my memories of you girls straight anymore. You were always together. Serena, you practically lived with us!" S smiled at her. "I did live with you Ma, you just didn't know it." We had a great time that night, and I really enjoyed how well my Mom got along with all of my friends. Brennen had a hard time not swearing around her, so I had a good laugh every time she scolded him and his face flushed. I wasn't used to seeing him blush for being chastised...or at all for that matter. The closer it got to my doctor's appointment, the more nervous I became. On the morning of, I got a text from S. "I have something planned. Please, don't find out the gender of the baby. Get it in an envelope and DON'T LOOK AT IT! I want to do a surprise gender reveal for you." Really? I was so excited about finding out what I was going to have...I sighed and went to find Colby to see what he thought about it. I found him in the bathroom, shaving what little bit of facial hair he actually has. "What are you doing?" I demanded, putting my hands on my hips. His eyes met mine in the mirror. "Um, shaving?" he replied, like it was a question. I pouted. "Why? I love the scruff." He chuckled. "I'm glad somebody does. I actually like it too, but most of the fandom hates it." "And? Aren't you a grown man that can make his own decisions? You need to start doing what you want, instead of worrying so much about what they think of you. Isn't that what you tell them all the time? Be yourself and don't worry about what other's think of you?" He bit his lip, looking at me. "I guess it is. I don't know, I just try to please everyone." "You can't always please everyone. Anyways, read this." I held my phone out and he took it. "Actually? Damn it Serena." He sighed heavily. "I know...I wanted to find out today too. Should we let her have her fun or should we just find out today?" He looked back at me and passed me my phone. "I'm okay with whatever you want to do. I was excited about finding out today but a little while longer won't hurt. It's up to you." I groaned. "You suck so bad. I don't want to make this decision." He laughed again and pulled me in for a hug. "I love you." I laid my head against his bare chest. "I love you too Colby. Always." Always," He murmured against the top of my head. I pulled back. "Okay, I guess we can wait...but if it gets to wear I can't wait any longer, I'm calling the doctor and getting the info anyways." "Deal." He replied, grinning and picking his electric razor back up. We finished getting ready and made it to the doctor's office. We got out and started walking towards the door. "You ready to see our baby again?" Colby asked, taking my hand in his. "I am. I'm so excited." By the time the doctor finally called us back, my nerves were jumping right along with my leg, like I was dancing while sitting down. We walked to the back and I changed into the dreaded paper gown again, wrapping it around my front. After the exam and all of the questions were over, the doctor walked out of the room to get more gel for the ultrasound. The one on the cart was empty. Colby was sitting in the chair by the exam table, his fingers playing on my exposed knee. I can't believe that Serena waited until the last minute to ask me to wait to find out about the gender of my baby. I was going to have a serious talk with her abou--what was that?! I grabbed my stomach, and gasped. That was weird. It felt like a --- there it goes again. A forceful fluttering type of thing in the lower part of my stomach. It didn't hurt...it was just weird. "Colby..." He glanced up at me, his eyes going from dreamy to worried at the tone of my voice. "What? What's wrong?' He stood up, placing his hand on my back. "Do I need to call the doctor?" I shook my head. "I don't know what that was but...OH!" My hand tightened on my belly, my eyes going wide. That was very forceful, a pushing against where my hand was placed. I realized what was happening. I grabbed Colby's hand and placed it where mine had been and pressed down a little. "Wait for it." I said, smiling at him. His blue eyes were staring into mine, with his hand pressed against my belly. "What am I wait, Oh my God!" His eyes went from my face to his hand. "Was that a kick or something? Was that our baby moving?!" My vision was getting blurry and I realized that they were feeling up with tears. I nodded, and let them spill over my cheeks.
