Patrolling was the same as always, fucking boring. Sometimes a fan would come up and ask for an autograph or he could stop a mugger but that's it. There were rarely any big fish out. Organised crime hid in the shadows, it took planned missions to take those down. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Bakugou Katsuki hated patrolling. He hates to interact with people, certainly, argh, fans...

Shivers ran down his spine thinking about the last crazy fangirl that actually stalked him for five streets until he told her to fuck off or he'd call the police. As a pro hero he couldn't be seen hurting civilians, no matter how annoying they were. Ugh, such a hassle...

His ears peaked up when he heard a scream in the distance and he was instantly on high alert. He fastened his pace and quickly turned the corner, seeing what the commotion was about. A plain looking green haired kid was being pressed against the walk of a building in some ally way. Two guys were holding him in place while a third was beating him up and yelling insults in his face. They seemed around 14. Tch, middle schoolers...

"Stupid Deku! Why don't you just take a swan dive off the fucking roof you quirkless hero wannabe!"

Okay, normally Katsuki didn't get involved in bully problems, but this was going a little to far.
"Oi! Three against one doesn't seem that fair to me" he called out, grinning as fear crept on their faces by seeing they'd been caught by the Ground Zero.
"Let me help you even the odds a little"
He blasted a small explosion onto his fist as he slammed his hands together with a sinister grin.

"Run!" one of the lackeys shouted, the leader soon following. The poor kid coughed and fell onto the ground as he suddenly lost the support of the two other guys. Bakugou made his way over and carefully kneeled down in front of him.
"Hey kid, you okay?"
He sniffled, wiping his nose as he looked up with tears in his eyes.
"T-thank y-you Mr Ground Z-Zero sir" he choked out with a small voice, still shaking from the aftermath.

Katsuki felt a strong sense of sympathy towards the kid, seeing as he was a bully in middle school himself. He hates his old self and tore up every picture he could find of that period in his life. Not wanting to be reminded of his stupid actions back in the past.
"Injuries?" the pro questioned, scanning the boy's body for cuts and bruises. He slowly grabbed his arm and pulled up his sleeve, seeing at least a dozen dark purple bruises littered across his skin. Fuck. This was worse than he thought.

"They bully you often, don't they?" he guessed. The boy nodded, pulling his arm back and quickly pulling his sleeve back down.
"Say, what's your name kid?"
"M-Midoriya Izuku, sir"
"No need for that formal crap. Just call me Zero or Katsuki alright? Now come on, I'm gonna walk you home. You're in no condition to be out"

"Y-you really don't have t-to do that-"
"I insist" the blond stated, helping Izuku back on his feet.
"I'd be a shitty hero if I don't help those in need, right?"
"I-I guess so..." he mumbled, looking down at his feet while fumbling with his hands.
"Come on" the pro hero said, walking out of the ally. Midoriya followed him obediently, not making a sound.

"So why don't you tell me a little more about yourself huh?" Katsuki asked, trying to start conversation. Normally people would start blabbering nonsense when they saw him. Yet this boy seemed to be lost in his own world.
"What's your quirk?"
"Oh... Uhm, I-I... I don't..." Izuku whispered and Bakugou instantly knew he'd made a mistake. This kid was quirkless... Probably why he was bullied.

"Hey, there is no shame in having no quirk. Just means God thought you'd be too powerful if you'd have one" he chuckled, elbowing the kid.
"R-really?" he gaped, looking up at him with bright emerald green eyes.
"You're calling me a liar?" Katsuki asked, quirking a brow.
"N-no! Not at all sir!"
