Amnesia

Villain!Deku

Deku loses his memories of the last year in an attack and is taken in by the police and later UA. They're trying to get him on their side, using the amnesia in their advantage. But when memories slowly drift back, Izuku starts to wonder who he really is...

The green head wobble with his feet as he stared down at his cuffed wrists. He was left alone in an interrogation room at some police station after the heroes came to take him from the hospital. He didn't quite remember why he was in the hospital in the first place... He didn't remember a lot about the last couple of months, actually. The doctors told him he was caught up in a villain attack and his head got injured. They weren't sure if he'd ever recover the memories or not.

Izuku sighed, glancing around the room nervously. Everyone has been treating him with so much caution... Like he's some kind of threat... But he's not, right? O-or maybe he was hit with some kind of quirk? During villain attacks, quirk incidents happened all the time, right? Maybe it was dangerous? Maybe they wanted to make sure he and everyone around him were okay? That must be it!

A little later, an inspector entered the room. His quirk was called lie detector. Izuku had heard of him, he was very good at interrogating villains since he could sniff out a lie from a mile away. After he introduced himself and his quirk, he started asking questions.
"What's your name?"
"Midoriya Izuku"
"Your age?"
"15"

They stared at each other for a while and the two heroes that were watching from behind the one way glass were shocked. Deku, a villain that had only recently become very active, was a real threat to hero society. Nobody knew what his quirk was, let alone his actual name or quirk... So imagine the surprise on All Might's and Aizawa's faces when finding out they've been fighting a kid all this time.

"Your quirk?"
"Oh, uh..." Izuku mumbled, looking down at his hands again.
"I-I'm quirkless"
The two hero teachers glanced at each other when the inspector showed no sign that Deku was lying. Quirkless... The villain Deku, the one they had so much trouble catching and caused so much destruction... He was actually just some quirkless child... Was this some kind of joke? If the media found out about this, they would describe heroes as impotent!

"It's a case of amnesia" the police told them after the interrogation.
"Like the doctors already thought... He doesn't remember anything from the past year or so, give or take. He doesn't remember any villainous activities and he even told us that it's his dream to become a hero"
What happened to this child to send him off to the wrong path like that..?
"Then we'll make him a hero" Shouta stated.

"What? You can't be seriously saying what I think you're-" Toshinori said, wanting to protest.
"We'll take him back to UA, let him enter the hero course and make him into a hero. With the skills he showed as a villain... It'll be better to have him on our side" Aizawa reasoned.
"But he doesn't remember those things... Besides, I'm not sure whether the students will be welcoming towards him" All Might sighed.

"Let's talk to Nezu about this first"

Izuku fumbled with his uniform as he nervously followed Eraserhead through the hallway of UA. He was told to have gone missing for the past year and that the heroes would look into it. They allowed him to spend some time at home with his mom after running several tests. Inko was overjoyed to see her son was okay and well, but something in her behaviour was off to him. Like she was holding back... Unsure of how to treat him... It was strange...
