A Swan Dive Off The Roof

Bakugou x Midoriya

The day Bakugou told Midoriya to take a swan dive of the roof and pray for a quirk in his next life, he took that advise literary. He jumped. Although he didn't really expect what happened after that... Izuku woke up on the ground later that night. He wasn't injured whatsoever, no blood, no bruises. He frowned, seeing his skin was freakishly pale and a little...transparant? He tried standing up but ended up floating. In a panic he francticly waved his armed around and smashed his face into the concrete.

He groaned, rubbing his face. That was only a reflex though because only seconds later he realised he didn't feel pain at all. Realising that, he realised he didn't feel anything at all... Not the cold evening air, nor the soft rain that was starting to fall. The water seemed to go right through him... Somehow he wasn't freaking out, as if this was how it was always supposed to be...

To no one's surprise, Inko totally flipped when her son came home later that night. She had him checked out immediately and Deku wasn't allowed to leave the hospital for a week after that. He had no heartbeat, no vitals, and sometimes objects passed right through him. Doctors confirmed this had to be his quirk and named it Ghost. They didn't know the full extend to his abilities yet but there were promising aspects. Like transparancy, intangibility and flying.

Midoriya couldn't be happier about it. He finally got his quirk! After all these years! His mother, however, wasn't all that excited... Certainly not when he had to tell the doctors how it happened. He was assigned a psychologist right away. Then there was Bakugou Katsuki...

He couldn't believe the nerd actually did it! Who is crazy enough to jump off a fucking roof like that?! He thought Deku of all people should know better! He was so relieved the nerd was okay, not that he would ever say that out loud. And the damn broccoli found his quirk as well? Like? He had to fucking die for that shit? How insane is that! Some fucked up twist in fate if you'd had to ask the blonde. He never really talked or looked at the green head after the accident...

Not up until the slug villain.

That bastard had the gut to try and save him! Izuku simply ran up to him, stuck his arms through the slime, and pulled him out. Midoriya had discovered he could turn everything and everyone he touched intangible as well. Actually he could transfer all his current powers by touch. He thought is was pretty cool! Kacchan fell onto his knees, coughing and taking deep breaths. Before the villain had another chance to attack, All Might showed up, punching him into oblivion.

Izuku got scolded by the heroes for being so reckless while the number one hero was covered in media and interviewers. Bakugou was getting angrier by the second. Those good for nothing wanna be heroes didn't do shit to save him and now they're lecturing the only one who actually did a damn thing?! Plus they're sweet talking him. Praising his quirk, telling him he could be a great side kick... Bakugou Katsuki is nobody's fucking side kick! Certainly not for these fucking losers! He swallowed his words though, letting it all happen.

Later on, when All Might suggested to pass down his power upon Midoriya, Bakugou heard. He walked up to the green head after that, wordlessly hugging him.
"K-Kacchan? Wh-what are you-?"
"Just shut up and accept my apology nerd" he hissed, not letting go.
"And...t-thank you...for saving my ass back there... You'll be a fucking awesome hero one day"

Deku froze up at those words. Words he'd always wanted to hear from his childhood friend... He had always hoped one day Kacchan would notice him. Acknowledge him. Respect him. It wasn't shocking he was tearing up, crying his eyes out for the second time. First time was when All Might said he could be a hero, and now his other hero said it. Bakugou rolled his eyes AQ tears stained his jacket. He just let ot happen though. This nerd deserves some fucking slack...
