Bakugou x Kirishima (Bromance)

Midoriya died during the sludge villain incident to try and save Bakugou. From that moment on, Katsuki swore to never be helpless again and save those we can't save themselves. But then summer camp happens...

Ever since Kirishima became friends with Bakugou, he noticed the blonde always pushed himself to his limits. Always trying to be better than everyone else, to win. Get powerful, get better, be number one. He had goals that were put in stone, things he had to do and accomplish. He had his whole life figured out... Eijirou, not so much... He really admired Katsuki's determination and spirit though. Super manly if you asked him.

Yet something...changed...after summer camp.

After he was taken by the League of Villains. After Kirishima had convinced Todoroki and Yaoyorozu to help him safe his best friend. Iida had joined them as well, in case they did something stupid, and Kaminari tagged along too because he wasn't 'missing out on all the action again!' Together they managed to save him, to rescue him without even having to fight themselve. Kirishima had thought of it as an absolute win. Up until All Might... Well, they don't really talk about that anymore...

Bakugou had closed himself off, even more so than before, not letting anyone get close to him. Kirishima noticed this change in mood but also saw the plee for help in those ruby red eyes. That's why he was standing in front of the Bakugou household right now, hoping to see the angry blonde and cheer him up a little.

But just as he wanted to ring the doorbell, the front door opened, revealing an emotionally wrecked Katsuki Bakugou. Kiri took a step back in surprise while Bakugou quickly recovered and made himself look more presentable.
"What the hell are you doing here Shitty Hair?" he snapped, but there was absolutly no trace of anger in his voice whatsoever.

He looked kinda...sad..? The red head didn't know how to process it. He'd never seen the blonde like this before. Katsuki on the other hand wanted him out of sight as soon as possible. He couldn't let his image be shattered on the ground and fall to pieces. He wasn't allowing himself to show emotion around others. He would never ever open his heart up again. Everything to become number one. To win and save, to save and win.

That's all he wanted, all he needed. He owed it to him to become the greatest hero and he would never let him down. Yet he did... He broke his promise to never be helpless again... To never have to rely on other to save him, to be the one that saves others... No. He was weak. Too weak. He needed to get stronger and fast, otherwise he wouldn't be able to live up to that promise.

But right now the only thing that mattered was getting hair for brains out of the way so he could go and visit his old friend.
"Everything alright bro?" Kiri asked carefully, not really knowing how to handle the situation.
"I'm fine. What the hell do you want?" the blonde repeated, not having any of it.

"I uh, thought we could uhm, I don't know, hang out or something? Since it's summer break and all... We could go to the gym if you'd rather train! We could even spar if you want to? Watcha say dude? Ya with me?"
By the end of his suggestion, a wide smile had made its way to the red head's face, making Bakugou scowl.

That toothy grin... That happy atmosphere... It all reminded him of that nerd... It so painfully reminded him of Deku's smile on his perfectly freckled face... His stupid quirkless ass was always smiling. Even through tears he'd always put up a though face and smile. Like All Might, he used to say. Smile like nothing in the world can hurt you... Well, jokes on you, shitty nerd. Looks like some things were too much to handle, even for a determined spirit as yourself.

Is that why Katsuki was attracted to Eijirou so much? Because his child-like spirit reminded him of his dead childhood friend? That was just sick... Ugh, great.
"Fuck off" the annoyed blonde grunted, pushing Kirishima aside as he walked past him. Kiri wasn't one to give up though.
"Come on! It will be fun!" he smiled, trailing behind Bakugou.
