Hanahaki disease!au. When Denki starts having coughing fits, he thinks he just got a cold. Things take a turn for the worse when he starts coughing up blood and flower petals as well...

Ugh... Kaminari felt like shit. He'd been sick for four days now, not that he really felt all that terrible all the time. Most of the time he was completely okay, physically that is. He just sat at the dormitory, bored out of his mind until the rest of his class returned after their lessons. And always when that same red headed shark boy walked through those doors and caught his sight, a deep, stabbing pain shot through his heart.

He'd start coughing, hard, hurting his own throat. Kirishima always wanted to help, but that just made things worse. So today Denki had closed himself off in his room, keeping himself busy with his phone. School was out half an hour ago, yet nobody had wondered where he was. Nobody bothered knocking on his door to ask if he was alright, if he needed anything. Nobody even texted him!

He sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. He shouldn't be bothered by it. They all had their own lives after all. But he did miss his gossip sessions with Mina and annoying Bakugou so much he blew up in his face. He remembered last week he dared Sero to hang himself on the ceiling with his tape and it had been absolutely hilarious. Even Mineta could keep him entertained, even if he was just a hopeless little pervert.

His mind travelled to Eijirou, to his bright red eyes and happy smile... Ugh, that guy was just so fucking adorable and he himself didn't even know it! The pain in his chest returned and Kami started coughing again. This time he spit out a small red petal, watching it swirl to the ground in shock and confusion. He instantly put his fingers in his mouth, trying to find out if there were more. Nope, just that one. Huh, strange...

He didn't remember ever seeing a flower petal like that either... Carefully, he picked up the small red leave. It was slim and ended in a sharp point, even though the material was rather soft. Maybe Mina knew what kind of flower it was? She's a girl and girls like flowers, don't they? Hmm... Yep, he made up his mind! He got up from his bed, stretching before walking out of his dorm. He crossed the hallway towards the girl part of the dormitory and knocked on Ashido's door.

"Hey Ash? Can I come in?" he asked, his voice sounding tired and a little raspy. Huh, he sounded a bit like Shinsou! He chuckled a bit at the thought, smiling as the pink girl opened up.
"You sound awful Kami... Shouldn't you stay in bed and rest? I don't wanna be infected you know" she joked, making the electric blonde laugh as well, ending in a painful coughing fit. Ashido quickly guided him inside so he could sit down on her bed, now catching his breath.

"Yeah, uhm, so I-I wanted to ask you something-" Denki mumbled, searching his pockets for the flower petal.
"No, you need to go back to your room and sleep" Mina demanded.
"But Ash~!" the blonde whined, showing her the petal when he found it.
"I just wanna know what kind of flower this is..."

"Well, it's red, now go back and get some rest before I get Bakugou in here to chase you back to your dorm" she stated, crossing her arms.
"I know it's red! But it came from my mouth!" Kaminari tried to explain, coughing again from the yelling.
"Ugh... I shouldn't talk too much, my throat hurts..."
"Then stop talking!" Mina breathed out, grabbing the petal from him.

"And are you really trying to make me believe this came from your mouth? What? You coughed it up or something?" she sassed, just wanting her friend to take care of himself. Kaminari nodded and groaned, falling back on her soft pink blankets. Normally he was full of energy but this illness had been draining him...
"Wait... You coughed this up?!" Mina yelled after a moment of silence, making Denki shriek up.
