Auri's POV

"C'mon Ty, we have to go! We won't run into him!" I cry.

"No, Auri. You can't just go onto an Unbroken ship to steal from Kal!" He says, voice firm.

We had to get this mission right. We were tasked with stealing fuel from Kal's ship the help with the resistance ships. Ty, evidently, wasn't too happy with it. Battle Leader De Stoy,  the leader of the rebellion against the Unbroken wasn't, either.

"What if I go with her? I'm warbreed, and I want to wreak havoc on my brothers ship." Saedii intervenes, before things start to get physical.

"No! I'm not losing my friend and my girlfriend to a suicide mission!" He cries.

"I want to go." Scar says "He betrayed us, and someone sensible has to go."

"Fine! Fine. But we're all going, your going to get yourself killed if I don't come."

"No, Ty. We will go. I do not want you to get hurt, and if we do get caught, you can come and get us." Saedii says, hand trailing down Ty's face.

He lets out a defeated sigh and trudges to his room, no doubt to sulk.

"We should get our stuff ready, we're near Kal's ship, anyway." I announce to the others, all too eager to get off the Zero.

We all run to our rooms to get ready to board Kal's ship, excitement in the air.

Six hours later

Scar, Sade's and I are all ready to go and board Kal's ship. We would board a disguised rebellion supply skiff, and wing it from there.

We're all clad in black Unbroken armour, to try and fit in more. Scar and I would have helmets to cover up the fact that we were Terran, in the rare event that we would be caught.

I've got about six paint cans in my bag, ready to use to wreak havoc on Kal's ship, just for a bit of extra fun. I mean, c'mon. It's my ex. Let a girl have fun.

Zila kisses Scars brow, and whispers something in her ear.

Ty and Saedii are in a hushed conversation in the corner of the room, and I'm leaning against the wall, saying my goodbyes to Fin.

"I'll be fine, Fin!" I reassure him, but he still looks worried.

"I'm not losing my little sister on that death trap of a ship." He says, worried.

I roll my eyes at him. "I'm not little. I'm 240, remember?"

"Yeah, yeah. Love you."

"Love you too. I'll be back. Say hi to Galatea and Andromeda for me, okay?" I say, wiping a tear from my eye. He's not my real brother, but he's the closest thing to it that I have. I have to live through this, for him.

Scar, Saedii and I board the rebel transport ship, disguised as an Unbroken transport, and leave the zero, wondering if this was the last time that we would see our family.

We prepare for boarding the Obsidio, ready for anything. I try not to show how scared I am, but it shows through bad enough that Scar puts a hand on my shoulder and gives it a reassuring squeeze.

"Auri, it'll be okay. It's an in and out mission. We've done plenty of these before." She says.

"I know. It's just....him. I'm scared to see him." I reply, my voice shaking.

"You won't. It'll be okay. For Zila."

"For Ty." Saedii says, voice distant.

"For Fin." I join in.

"For Squad 312. For the resistance." We finish.

I let out a small smile. This was my family. I had burned away my ties to Kal years ago.

I shouldn't be scared.

But I am.

And as we board the Obsidio, I wonder whether this was the right thing to do.
