The girl with mismatched eyes POV

"Kal's gonna freak when he sees you!" Moon says, looking at her accomplishment.

I'm wearing a black dress, with a tight-fitting bodice and a trillion bouncing layers of tulle for my skirt.

She finishes with putting my hair into a twist thing that goes behind my head, fastening it with a silver pin.

I do a quick twirl, laughing.

"I wanted to be a designer." Moon says.

"...A fashion designer?"

"Yeah."

I put an arm on her shoulder and squeeze.
"You would've been a damn good one. Why don't you do it?"

"Too scared of rejection, I guess."

My face lights up, and I have an idea.
"You could do costumes and clothes for Illuminae! Like, supply stuff for us!"

"Yes yes yes yes YES!" Moon shouts, and does a dance around the room.
She hugs me. "Thank you!"

I smile at her. "I have to go, but meet me at the woods at midnight. And bring Lila!"

"Oooooo, creepy." She says.

I push the door open and walk towards Kal's room on the other side of the palace.
"Hello? Kal?" I ask as I knock on the door.

"Come in, Aurora."

I walk inside the room, and am shocked to see that everything is alive and blooming again. Like yesterday never happened.

I sit down next to him.
"I'm so sorry, Kal. I shouldn't have run away."

"You were frightened. It is okay."

"Ok, great. Well, I have something to tell you."

I lean in and our lips collide, wanting more, more. Everything burns away, and it's only this; this sensation of melting and flying and his mouth on mine and how warm his body feels.
