Auri's POV

Scar, Saedii and I are hiding deep in the Core Server Level. It stretches levels across, and there's no SecCams installed, for fear of damaging the precious machinery that keeps the ship running. Really, it's a perfect place to hide from your psycho ex on a suicide mission.

But anyway, we wouldn't be destroying the ship, considering the fact that we would have to live on it for a week, all without being seen by Kal's patrols.

Yay.

Scar, Sade's and I were preparing for our first mission into the fuel sector. We would go on several trips to steal fuel so no one would realise. And then we would deliver them to several disguised rebel ships.

Easy peasy, except for the fact that we would be facing death if we were caught, and a worse fate if we were found by Kal.

We suit up in Unbroken Armour. It's all smooth plates and matte black, with an added white paint job Scar has done in Syldrathi. Mine supposedly says 'Andrael', in memory of Saediis ship, and it means 'She who greets death'.

Or it could just say something bad in Syldrathi. I don't know, I only speak it brokenly, from the lessons Kal gave me in the Echo, and the lessons Scar taught me from the years that we've been on the run between missions.

We weave through the levels of the Core Servers, watching out for Unbroken Mechanics, Engineers and Patrols, heading down twenty two levels to the fuel room.

Who knew hijacking an enemy ship was so easy! It's like Kal doesn't even care that there would be intruders. It's kinda suspicious, actually....
Is he okay?
He's usually so on guard about everything.

After several close calls with Patrols, the three of us eventually make it to the fuel room, and prepare to siphon the fuel.

We fill up several small canisters, and hide them in hidden pockets of our armour, making it even more uncomfortable to wear, if that even was possible.

We leave the dark, smoky fuel room, and walk down the black and crimson corridors of the Obsidio, heading in the direction of Hangar Bay 4, where a rebel transport skiff was waiting for us.

The pilot comes up to us, a Warbreed with beautiful white hair in a series of twisted braids, and takes the fuel canisters from us.

"We have word that Kallis has updated his security measures as per his fathers command. Be careful. De'sai." He says to our little group, before signalling for us to leave.

The words did not sit well with us, knowing that our already difficult mission was made even worse.

We exchange a look, now knowing that if we get caught, we are definitely dead.

We get out of the skiff, and head back to our room in the Core Servers. It's awfully dark in here, and Scar and I keep tripping over fallen power cords.

The endless passageways of blinking lights and humming electronics remind us how easy it would be to get lost in here.

We reach our room, and strip off the uncomfortable unbroken armour, and collapse on the floor, exhausted, and fall asleep.

We do a few fuel runs over the next few days, with updates from the rebellion.
Everything was okay.
But nothing prepared us for what happened next.

We were going to be on our last fuel run. We would grab the fuel, and go on a heavily armoured transport, with guards.

We had just left the Fuel room, when someone tripped the alarms. I don't know who, I just knew the screaming alarms up above us and the Unbroken chasing us.

We make it to hangar bay 4, and dive onto the ship, screaming at the pilot to get out of the bay. He panics, and screams that it isn't working.

And that causes our demise.

Five Unbroken warriors manage to get onto the ship.

"We only want the one you call Aurora O'Malley. If we have her, we will leave you in peace. If not, war." The leader says.

It's an easy decision, really.

I turn to my friends and say, "Tell the others I'm sorry. I've left Andromeda enough birthday cards for centuries. Don't come back for me."

Scar is crying, Saedii just looks stunned.
"Give my brother hell, Aurora." She says.

I nod, and walk towards the Unbroken.

I'm coming for you, Kal.
