I float in my room, my right eye glowing with ghostly pale light.

I tumble and am transported to a world of black emptiness.
Well it's not all that empty.
There's a person there.

Callie.

She's exactly as I remember, short dark hair, bright green eyes. She fidgets with the overalls that she's wearing, and we make eye contact.

"Callie..." I breathe, and we hug, crushing each other's ribcages.

"Oh my god I have so much to tell you!" She cries.

"Tell me."

She spills and spins stories of home until my tears fall.

"Auri? What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I just miss you, that's all."

She smiles.
"Jam sesh? Those made you feel pretty good."

I smile.
"That'd be pretty great."

Her violin materialises from nowhere and she starts playing a tune that I recognise.

"I pirouette in the dark, I see the stars through me."
"Tired mechanical heart, beats till the song disappears."

The violin swells, it's melody flowing through me.
"Somebody shine a light! I'm frozen by the fear in me."
"Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me!"
"So cut me from the line!"
"Dizzy; spinning endlessly, somebody make me feel alive and shatter me!"

"Shatter me!"

I grin, and Callie smiles right back.
"If only the clockwork could speak."
"I wouldn't be so alone."
"We burn every magnet and spring, and spiral into the unknown."

"O-okay."

I smile and fade out of the fake world, and into reality again.
