The girl with mismatched eyes POV

"Lila! We gotta go!" I shout, while making my belongings all fly into a little bag that I had enchanted for the trip ahead.

We were going to meet the Warbreed Elf prince, who is Lilas soon-to-be husband.

I grab the note that I would leave for Illuminae, and stash it in the bookshelf, hoping that no one will see it.

"How do I look?" I hear a voice behind me.

Lilas wearing a dark green dress, which is a perfect compliment to her olive skin. Her black hair tumbles down her back, and stood at her waist, and she's put in a gold circlet of leaves and flowers at her brow, in a mock crown.

"Woah......" I say, my breath taken clean away. "The prince is gonna be real lucky to marry you."

She smiles at that, and grabs my arm to get me ready.

She leaves my short, white and blue-black hair out, barely grazing my shoulders. She pulls out a gold and red backless dress that shows off the scars on my back and comes to my knees in a thousand layers of bouncing tulle. I pull my black jacket over it, wanting to only show the scars in Syldra.

I pin back my hair with a gold clip, and slip a dagger into my boot, and a vial of poison in my jacket.

"As your future queen, I command you to go get me a snack." Lila giggle.

"As your Mage, and not your Handmaiden, no."

She rolls her eyes and we leave the castle, bags in our hands, ready for our new life.

"Do you think he'll be hot?" Lila asks after a while of travelling on our horses.

I think back to No One, and tell her yes.

I think of him a lot, actually. Why I left him.

I got caught, when I was visiting him. I still have the scars on my back from the beatings they gave me for it.

I was only six.

I just wanted to be a princess.

"Auri? Auri are you okay?" I hear someone call, and I'm snapped back to reality.

My right eye fades, and I almost fall off the horse. This happens a lot. I zone out thinking about him and my magic flares up.

This is why I need to get to the Illuminae group. There I can make a difference.

There I can be free.

The escort in front of us reaches a bridge manned by some human guards in bulky, silver armour.

They say a few words and we walk onto the bridge that goes across a spiralling chasm in the earth.

The border between Syldra and Skyfell.

When we reach the end of the bridge, we are greeted - actually, not greeted. The guards looked like they hated us - by a squad of Elven guards.

They are clad in sleek black armour, and have their long hair tied back in flowing braids.

Beautiful.

"Welcome to Syldra, humans. Follow us." One says, and turns on his horse and starts walking, everyone following.

We're led through an all to familiar wonderland of strange plants and animals.

I'm starting to have flashbacks.

Mum and Dad being pushed over the bridge, tumbling into the chasm below.

Flower crowns and Elven boys.

And then we see the palace that held so many memories for me.

It's beautiful. It's all twisting spires and open land, at its centre a garden.

I've missed it.

We dismount our horses, and I shrug off my jacket, pocketing the poison. I want to show off the scars on my back. Maybe then No One will remember me.

Remember the little girl with the mismatched eyes.

We walk through golden archways and twisting corridors until we reach the throne room.

There, we are greeted with a cruel looking man in a crimson cloak, silver hair draped over one eye and a golden crown on his head.

There's two others, as well.

A woman, cruel and lean, with black hair and violet eyes.

And there's another man, too.
He has silvery hair tied back in twisting braids, and cheekbones so sharp theyd cut you if you kissed them.

It's a familiar face.

It's No One.
