The girl with mismatched eyes POV

"Kal.
"Kal."
"Kaaaaaaal"
"Wake uppppppp" I whisper in his ear.

"No. It's night, Be'shmai. Go back to sleep."

"But I slept for two hundred and twenty years and I wanna mess up my sleep schedule. Now get up!"

He sighs and gets up out of bed, and pulls on a jumper over his long pants, covering up my view of an eight-pack.

You will be missed.

"Come onnnnnnnn!" I say and drag him out of the room, trying to stay quiet for the rest of the squads sake.

"No. Not without a coffee. If your going to wake me up in the early hours, let me live a little."

I had shown Kal what coffee was after he saw me drinking it, and now he's addicted. Like, addicted.
I roll my eyes and let him make his coffee while I look out the window at the stars.

Looking at all those stars, I realise where I want to go tonight.

I get off the table and go back to my room to grab my uni and a speaker.

I quickly go into the bathroom to brysh my teeth and wrangle my bedhair into submission into loose waves around my chin.

I return to the kitchen to see a guilty Kal stuffing chocolate into his jacket.

I giggle, and he looks at me, caught.
"It's okay, I won't tell anyone." I say and he breathes a sigh of relief.

"But, at the price of a kiss." I say, and step close to him, wrapping my arms around his neck and his hands on my waist.

We break apart. "That's a price I'm willing to pay." He murmurs, and I giggle.

"Come onnnnnnnn, chocolate-thief." I say, and pull him out of the door, into the street.

We all lived on the same space station that Fin grew up on in a house all together. I lace our fingers together, and we walk down the street.

"Where are we going?" Kal asks.

"Not telling."

"No fair."

"Totally fair."

He rolls his eyes, but his ears are burning bright red, and a smile is playing on those dreamy lips.

Don't get distracted, Auri. He's a chocolate thief, he can't be trusted.

"Oh, shut up, inner me." I mutter.

"...what?" Kal asks.

"N-nothing!"

"Are you sure, Be'shmai?"

"Mmmhm."

I lead him through streets lit by neon lights and dark alleys with graffiti on their walls, before we reach where I wanted to go to.

The old, abandoned observatory on Smoke Street.

"Taadaa!" I say, as I lead him through dusty tiled hallways.

"Are you sure about this?" He asks.

"A hundred and eleventy percent."

We finally reach the main room, and Kal's jaw drops. The ceiling soars high above us, and the floor-to-ceiling windows show off the stars. I've set up pillows and blankets and a bunch of snacks as well.

"Did you- did you do this?" He asks, wonder on his face.

"Course I did!"

He cups my face in with his hands and kisses me, long and slow.

"Thank you." He breathes.

I smile at him in return, and flop down on the pillows, and put on Let's fall in love for the night by FINNEAS.

I lean into his shoulder, and make grabby hands.
"Can I please please please have some chocolate?"

He laughs. "Of course you can."

I take a chocolate and nom down on it, savouring how sweet it tastes.
"Yum yum yum."

Blink-182's first date comes on, and I get up, and pull Kal up with me, dancing to a strange spastic dance that only I know the choreography to.

I can't help spinning into his arms a little as I dance, both of us laughing all the way.

We sit down after a while, my head resting on his leg, and his arm wrapped around me protectively, like
something's gonna come out of the dark and scare us.

I shiver, and Kal pulls a blanket around me, ever the caring boyfriend.

"Do you rememberrrrrrrrr...Bianchis ball?" I ask him, reliving bittersweet memories.

"How could I forget? You looked amazing."

I feel a blush creeping up my face, but I make no effort to hide it.

"Do you remember Emerald City?" He asks.

"What part?"

"The one where you got to scream at Tyler?"

"Oh, the best part? Yeah, I remember."

He smiles.

"Hmmmmmmm." I say, scrunching up my face in concentration.
"Do you remember when we all watched horror movies?"

He shudders. "Let's not talk about that."

"Do you remember the time that I proposed?" He asks.

"...No?"

"Well."

He gets up, and pulls a ring from his pocket, and gets down on one knee.

"We've known each other for four years, Aurora. We have been through high and low and been to hell and back. I wanted to know, if you would like to go on this next adventure with me. Explore the stars and our futures together, as one."
"I have loved you since I first saw you, and my only regret is that is that I didn't know you longer."
"And I was wondering, would you, Aurora Jie Lin O'Malley, like to be my wife? Will you marry me?"

My eyes widen and my hands go to my mouth. Tears spill from my eyes.

"Yes!" I cry.

I tackle him into a kiss, and he almost loses the gold and sapphire ring before he can slip it onto my finger.
