Confessions

By the time I made it to school my cheerful mood disappeared and was consumed with fear, I was so on edge to the point where even the smallest things would startle me. I looked over to Nezuko-chan who was talking to Kanao, my heart skipped a beat.

"Hey, Zenitsu are you feeling okay? You look really pale..." Tanjirou tapped my shoulder which made me jump out of my daydream,

"AH!"

Inosuke chimed in too, "Mantoro's right. You seem like you're two seconds away from fainting."

I sighed, "No, I am not alright! Look, I'm scared okay? Like really, really scared!!!"

"Don't tell me you're about to wuss out right now." Inosuke hissed, "You put way too much effort into this! You can't just quit!!"

Tanjirou reassured me too, "Inosuke has a point. C'mon, we know you can do it!"

"Yeah Tenitsu!"

I took a deep breath and smiled, "Thanks guys." I turned to Inosuke, "Hey Mr. Idiot, my name is Zenitsu! Zen-i-tsu!"

Inosuke furrowed his eyebrows, "Yeah, like I've got time to remember that!!" He spat, "Names aren't important!"

"Says the one who gets furious when someone gets your name wrong."

"That's only because I am King Inosuke of the Wild!! I do not tolerate disrespect!"

I laughed, "Okay, whatever!" Tanjirou sighed,

"Man, you guys truly are weird..."

RING!!

"Welp, it's time for class." I said, "See you guys later!"

Tanjirou and Inosuke both gave me a thumbs up,

"Good luck!!"

I turned around to face them as we walked off, "Goodbye Queen Inosuke!!" I teased, Inosuke whipped back around,

"KING!! I AM A KING!!!"

I ignored him as I ran away laughing, Tanjirou had to hold him back so he wouldn't attack me. Now that the bell had rang, all I had to do was get through the day and ask her out. Should be easy right?

I sat in class trying to do my work, but ended up stressing out. Either the world was against me or time had actually stopped, I kept glancing at the clock every chance I got and the time wouldn't even change!

12:15. Okay, remember that.

Then I proceeded to complete an entire packet of work, even extra. I braced myself, turned around, and looked at the clock. It was 12:18. I laid my head on the desk,

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! IT'S ONLY BEEN THREE MINUTES??

Every class was like this, it was agony!! It was the same routine each time: Look at the clock, do my assignment, finish, and finally look back at the clock to see that nothing has changed. Now this is what I call absolute torture! I was so eager to get out of class, when the last bell of the day rang I grabbed my stuff and bolted out of the room.

I sprinted out of the school and stood in the courtyard looking for Nezuko-chan, she was slowly walking away. I had to stop her before she left the school, I ran over to her and grabbed her hand, we both stood underneath the cherry blossom tree,

Now's the time! Just ask her!!

Nezuko-chan turned around, "Oh! Zenitsu-kun! What is it?"

I froze when she looked me in my eyes. I braced myself,

"I uhhh.... U-Umm"

Nezuko-chan tilted her head in confusion. My face was bright red, I took a deep breath and looked her straight in the eyes. My heart was fluttering so much, more than it ever has before,

"Nezuko-chan, I-I......"

"Hm?"

I sighed,

".....I h-have had a c-c-crush on you since th-the day we met! Y-You truly make m-me super h-happy!"

There! I finally said it!!

It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when those words finally came out of my mouth. I finally told her how I felt.

Nezuko-chan's eyes widened,

I avoided eye contact, "S-So, I w-was wondering i-if you did t-too...." I stuttered, "If so, I-I want to kn-know," I pulled out the bouquet of flowers and the cookies I got for her, I closed my eyes, "will y-you be my valentine?"

As if on cue the wind blew, making the cherry blossoms flow past us in the wind along with our hair. There was no noise, except for the quiet murmur of people talking amongst each other. I handed her the gifts with my face burning up and trembling hands. She didn't respond, which caused my hands to shake even more. Then something happened, I felt her wrap her arms around my body. I didn't expect that so I opened my eyes and looked down at her. She looked up at me and blushed a bright crimson hue,

"Zenitsu-kun."

"Y-Yeah....?"

Nezuko-chan smiled,

"Yes." She gushed, "Yes I will!"
