Chapter thirty-seven

"I think we did pretty great.", Raphael sighed as him and Alec came down to the foyer to have some water after performance. "We did. But I am way more worried about our year two partnering dance.", Alec sighed. "I mean it's looking good for you and Maia, you really don't have to stress about that.", Raphael tried to comfort him but Alec shook his head:"I am pretty confident about that, but I am worried about you. You didn't look good these past days and I catch you holding your back all the time- don't make the same mistake I did. If you need anything, a massage, meds, more tape, I'm your man. Just don't try to cover it. I get it if you don't want Maureen to see what she did to you but at least trust me, Raph." "You don't have to worry about it. Yes, it hurts like a bitch but it's just a pulled muscle. All I have to do is get through today and I know I can do that. Don't worry. I'm good. You're good. We're good. It's all going to be good." "Raphael, sweetie!", A woman exclaimed as she approached. That must be his mother. "Hey, mom!", he fake smiled and pulled her into a hug. "That was impressive, son!", his dad said and also hugged him. "I am so proud of you!!!", his aunt squieked and literally pulled him into the longest hug ever. "Thank you.", Raphael replied and the smile got realer. Afterwads he hugged all three of his younger sisters. "So good to see you. By the way, this is my friend, Alec.", Raphael introduced him. "Hi, nice to meet you.", he said and started shaking hands wit everyone. "Oh, here you are!", an elderly woman exclaimed and walked towards Raphael, "Do not ever forget about your granny, do you her me?" "How could I.", he chuckled and started running out of breath when she let him go. "Who is this handsome man?", she asked and Alec started blushing. "This is my friend, Alec." "Nice to meet you.", he greeted and surprisingly got pulled into a hug. "That looked so easy! How much do you train a week?", Raphaels granddad asked and Raphael chuckled:" 45 to 50 hours. It's a lot." "That is a lot. Don't you get tired?", his grandma asked and Alec couldn't help but smile- they were so sweet. "We do. A lot. Dance, eat, sleep, repeat.", Raphael replied grinning. "No girls?", his grandma asked with a teasing smile, "The girl you threw around on stage was really pretty." "Maureen and I are not really a thing.", he said and his grandma just smiled suspiciously. "Alec, would you take a picture of all of us? It's so rare we reunite.", Raphael's mother asked and Alec took her phone. "Raphael, pick your sister up, otherwise the picture will look weird.", she commanded and Raphael gave Alec an alarming side gaze. "Maybe he should save his energy-", Alec tried to help but it was hopeless. "Come on, you are throwing around those grown women but can't pick up your six year old sister?", his mother asked and Raphael nodded: "No, sure, not a problem." Alec could see him wince as he picked the quirky girl in the oink dress up and placed her on his hips. "Say cheese!", Alec said and took a couple of pictures. "They are amazing!", Raphaels aunt exclaimed and Alec smiled. "Uhm, well, I will talk to you guys later we have to change for our next performance but I promise, I will show you my room and everything later.", Raphael excused himself. "Oh, sure, you guys are working, we're just visitors! Go do what you're here for to do!", his grandma exclaimed and Alec couldn't help but smile as they walked away. "Your grandma is the most wholesome human I have ever met.", he chuckled. and Raphael grinned:" Yeah, I really love her. 

"Heyyy!", Isabelle greeted and pulled him into a hug, "That was awesome! I didn't know you can jump like this.", she said as she let go. "Yeah, I really underestimated you.", Jace laughed and also hugged him. "Well I didn't. But you guys killed it.", Clary smiled and went on to hugging Raphael. "Hey, mum, dad.", Alec said in an awkwardly flat voice. He hasn't talked to them in months and haven't seen them in over a year. "Hello Alec.", his mother replied in a stone cold voice. "Hello, son.", his dad greeted, not at all more welcoming. "Hello, everyone!", Magnus interrupted as he practically ran into the group. "Hi, I'm Magnus Bane, nice to meet you.", he said and stretched out his hand. It took Alec's mother seconds to shake his hand. "I'm Maryse, Lightwood, my pleasure.", she replied with a slight disgust in her voice. "So you are the man that has been screwing our son, huh?", Alec's dad said and Alec froze. "Uhm, if- I mean I am his boyfriend.", Magnus replied in shock. "Interesting. Well how does that work? Two penises?", Alec's dad kept asking and Alec though he was going to throw up. "Dad, what-", he said but his dad interrupted him:" I am just curious." "This is neither the time nor the place to speak about this. If you are so interested in gay sex, look it up online or call me. But do not interrogate my boyfriend at an event that is supposed to be fun. If you excuse us- Jace, Clary, Izzy, feel free to come upstairs into my room after the show, Mum, dad, I doubt you want to see the bed I had the most amazing sex on. Have good day.", Alec snapped and walked off. "What in the name of god-?", Raphael asked but shut up as he noticed Alec started running towards the bath room. In the very last second he stormed into the cabin and threw up. "Hey, hey...", Raphael said but in this very moment Magnus also entered the cabin. "I'll give the two of you some privacy.", Raphael said and went to the sinks. "It's okay, it's okay.", Magnus said and padded Alec's back while he coughed out the last chunks of vomit. Alec felt dizzy and cold sweat was running down his back. "Raph, can you get some water?", Magnus asked and Raphael got on his way. "I'm so sorry.", Alec said with a rough voice. "It's totally fine, it's okay.", Magnus said and Alec finally turned his head away from the toilet bowl. "It isn't.", he sighed and leant against the wall. "Don't worry about it. It's not worth it.", Magnus said and reached out his hand to help Alec get up. "Thank you. I don't think most people would understand." "Most people are douchebags.", Magnus stated and Alec grinned. "I guess the water is coming too late.", Raphael said as he stormed into the bathroom. "Nah, I'll take it. I'm better though. Homophobia does things to me science can't really explain.", Alec grinned.

Hello beautiful people! This chapter is so long, I am so sorry! But, I wanted to be able to finish the day of the open house within this and the next chapter because I am scared to bore you. For next chapter I will drop 2 bombs that I have been teasing so far so be excited for that! Whoever read HeartBEAT probably remembers the four chapters I wrote about the midterm party, this is pretty much the same thing. Anyways, I hope you are enjoying summer so far- I actually have thee weeks of school left until Summer holidays but with Corona you really can't plan anything.
