Chapter thirty-nine

"Good  morning.", Magnus whispered into Alec's ear. The sun shone brightly through their room and tickled his nose. "Good morning."; Alec replied with a rough morning voice. Magnus grinned:" Haven't done sleeping in one bed together in a while." Alec smiled. Last night was fabulous. "How late is it?", he asked. "10 AM", Magnus replied and got out of bed, "We missed breakfast but I guess you don't mind either." "And you were so right."; Alec sighed and sat up in bed. His knee was pounding and he had a sick feeling in his stomach- he promised Magnus and everyone else he would use the post-performance free day to pay the doctor a visit. The only thing motivating him to actually go was taking Raphael with him. "I made toast if you want some?", Magnus asked from the kitchen and Alec got up. How come Magnus was always so bright and bubbly in the mornings? Alec was not a morning person at all but Magnus was the total opposite which shocked him every time. "Are you happy we are done with the open house?", Magnus asked and Alec shrugged:" I am happy it's over because I don't have to worry about it anymore and it was a lot of work but I partly am sad because performing was just so great." Magnus nodded:" Me too. I mean all I heard over the past weeks was 'open house this' and 'open house that' and honestly it was starting to get seriously annoying. And I am excited to see what is next I mean it's almost midterm!" Alec grinned- he was too. And he was looking forwards to spending more time with Magnus. "I totally understand that.", he said and got up. "Are you leaving already? Will you be back for lunch?", Magnus asked and Alec chuckled:" I will try." "Okay, good luck!", Magnus said and pressed a goodbye kiss on Alec's cheek. "Thanks. I'll need it.", Alec replied with a grin and got going. First he had to pick up Raphael and to his satisfaction he was already ready to go and exited the door in the second Alec wanted to knock. "Look at you.", Alec grinned and hugged Raphael . His friend seemed to have caught up on the much needed sleep and looked really nice in normal clothes. "Any plans for later?", Alec asked and watched Raphael blush:" Maureen will pick me up from the doctor and we will have a date which means we will sit in a coffeshop for hours." "I thought you dressed up for me.", Alec grinned sarcastically and the boys got going. "Didn't she want to go to the doctor with you? I mean that's the type of girlfriend I imagine Maureen to be.", Alec asked and Raphael nodded:" She did and it took me eternities to convince her not to. She doesn't have to know I literally can't bend at all." "I get that. I mean my back is sore as well after all of this but I'm not even injured so props to you for keeping a straight face.", Alec replied and Raphael chuckled:" Thanks. You could never." "Nah, straight ain't my thing.", Alec grinned and mentally reexperienced last night. Straight really wasn't for him.

"Hi, my name is Alec Lightwood, I made an appointment for me and my friend.", Alec introduced himself as they arrived at the doctors. "Doctor Zachariah is ready for you, just take a sea in room number 4, he will be right there.", the nurse said and Raphael and Alec did as they were told. "Hey! What can I do for you?", doctor Zachariah asked a couple of minutes later. "Hi! I injured my meniscus last year and now I have been feeling sharp pains in the same knee again and it has been pretty swollen so I decided to get it checked.", Alec started and doctor Zachariah grinned:" I see, someone learned from previous mistakes. Wise choice." Alec chuckled and let the doctor examine his knee. To his own relief he realized it hurt a lot less than the last time he was there. "This is a normal case, mister Lightwood, there's no need to worry. There's an inflammation in your knee, it can hurt quite a lot and it causes some extreme swelling but it itself isn't that bad. It's a normal post-meniscal injury. You need o ice it and fully rest for two or three days and then you will be absolutely fine. This might re-accur but just a few total rest days and ice should fix it.", the doctor explained and Alec sighed in relief- he promised himself he would do what the doctor told him. Facing the fact that he was almost certain he would be out of dance for a lot longer, three days seemed totally okay to Alec. "And this was the lower back injury, right?", doctor Zachariah asked and Raphael nodded, obviously uncomfortable. "It has been sore for weeks but then during a lift something twisted and it started hurting really bad.", Raphael explained and doctor Zachariah started examining. He got stuff like that multiple times a week so he probably was already strongly familiar with those types of injury. As expected doctor Zachariah had a diagnosis directly after the physical exam. "As you suspected, it's most likely you pulled a muscle in your back. That happens quite often but you need to tape, ice and rest it. I recommend painkillers to make the muscles relax. But try to reduce the risk, maybe switch partnering partner or something to help in the long run." Raphael nodded. The boys thanked doctor Zachariah and walked out of the  praxis. "Thank god it's not serious.", Alec sighed and Raphael nodded:" Yeah, I'm also relieved. But how am I supposed to handy things with Maureen?" "I have no idea.", Alec sighed. "No idea about what?", Maureen asked out of nowhere and stormed into her boyfriends arms. "No idea about how we got this lucky.", Alec lied on the spot. "Both of us are fine, just some rest days until we're good.", Raphael said and Maureen rewarded him with a kiss. "So, our date is still up?", she asked and Raphael nodded, smiling:" Sure, honey." Alec said goodbye and walked away grinning- Maureen and Raphael were adorable. The way they made each other happy, the way they talked to each other... It was all so new and fresh and exciting. Not as exciting as Alec's last night though Nothing could top that.

Hello beautiful people! Thought I would give some clearance with this chapter, some malec cuteness and a little Raphreen. Would you guys want another Raphreen chapter (Date, sex, anything) or do you not care as much? Because for me, they started out as side characters but I have fallen in love with them so I don't know if you would want some more insight into that as well.
