Two weeks had passed since anyone in the kingdom had seen Hope and Dalton was going insane. At least he wasn't completely alone, Darling had refused to move out (despite now having somewhere to live) until Hope returned home.
The family and everyone close to them had spent every waking hour trying to find her but had no luck. The dwarves had headed underground to see if she had fallen through a faulty patch of land but had no luck, the fairies kept an eye on who left and entered the realm but had no luck even Hades had agreed to keep an eye out for her on the off chance she arrived in the underworld but even he had no luck.
The family had flat out refused Regina or Dalton to help in the search for her insisting they had 'more important' things to do but what could be more important than searching for you missing goddaughter or wife?
As they entered the third week of looking for Hope it looked as if their luck was about to change.
Emma had been working her new job as Sheriff of one of the larger towns in the forest when someone had handed in a phone they had found in the middle of the woods and as luck would have it the phone belonged to Hope.
She had the family gather at the station as fast as they could and they couldn't have been happier that they finally had a lead of some sorts.
"Have you told Dalton or Regina?" Snow smiled hoping she'd tell them she had but was disappointed when she said she hadn't
"Look it took us a stupid amount of encouragement to get them to go to Dun Broch to that Kings and Queens meeting so if I called and said 'oh we have Hopes phone' they'd be on the first ship back!" Emma sighed knowing she probably should've told her daughters husband they had a lead but she knew what Hope would say, she'd tell her that Dalton had to think of his kingdom and then her as much as Hope hated all the excess time he spent doting on his people she knew he had to and eventually she got over it.
"Ok, so where do we look?" Robin asked running his hand over the map in front of them
"Em was hoping you could help with that actually Robin... it was found in Sherwood Forest!" Killian smiled
"Yes of course I know that forest better than I know our castle!" He laughed
"So the phone was found north of a tavern owned by a Clair Fairchild?"
"That was my tavern!" He smiled "What was she doing that close to the cottage?"
"What cottage?" Charming asked rather forcefully
"There's a clearing in the middle of the forest and in said clearing sits a cottage rumour has it a man was murdered there and now he haunts the place!" Suddenly Killian turned a shade of white and felt as though he was going to be sick.
Sure Hope knew what had happened between her father and her grandfather but the thought of her being where it had all happened was too much for him too stomach.
"Not long after we sold the tavern a man and his son moved in before he died and his son was murdered not that long ago actually!"
"I think I know why she was there!" Emma sighed
"Why's that Swan?" Killian manned to spit out without spilling his guts all over the floor
"Brooke murdered her brother when she found out her father had died maybe that's where she's holding Hope!"
"There's only one way to find out... I can get us all there within the hour!" Robin smiled as he left to gather up their horses.
Sure to his word Robin had managed to get everyone to the cottage within the hour and when they arrived Killian realised his suspicions had been right. This was where he murdered his father and it was all he could see.
Emma noticed he looked shaken and in an attempt to calm him down she grabbed his good hand and wrapped it around her shoulders.
As a 'safety precaution' Snow insisted she open the door with an arrow but they all presumed it was so nobody forgot she was there as the arrow hadn't had an affect on the door at all.
Killian chuckled to himself as he realised the door was padlocked shut and that the arrow wouldn't had done a thing. With one quick swing of his hook the padlock came undone and they had made their way inside the cottage.
There was no sign of Hope but it was very obvious someone was living there or at least using it as a hideout of sorts.
The fire had not long gone out and the cupboards were filled. The family began to poke around but found absolutely nothing.
Robin and Charming had tipped out a truck they had found and were horrified when they realised just who the clothes in the trunk belonged to
"Uh... guys..." Charming gulped as Snow, Emma and Killian threw their heads round to see what he wanted "are these...?"
"Hopes!" Emma and Killian gasped.
They all began going through any other trunk they could find and all of them were filled with things from Hopes bedroom at Emma and Killian's to things from hers and Daltons bedroom.
Whoever had taken Hope had been planning to do so for a while, the trunks had everything from clothes to shoes to framed photos with peoples faces burnt out to her glasses that she hadn't worn since high school.
"She has to be here!" Killian growled thinking of anyway they could find out if she was.
They all began to scan the room for anything that would reveal a hidden staircase or a secret room and to their surprise they did.
Robin had noticed a certain area of the floor by the fire was loose when he had been going through boxes and decided he would revisit said area of the floor to see if he could find anything and he had found an entrance to an underground bunker.
