26. It was a mistake

Chaeyoung's POV

We've been inside this spooky jungle for about 10 minutes yet we haven't found any item not even fake ones. We only found creepy dolls, spider webs and battery-operated centipedes.

I am searching for the special item on the ground and bushes while Mina eonnie is searching on the trees, branches, etc.

*10 mins earlier*

"Ok so let's go," I said giving my hands for support. I can tell she is scared because she is literally looking everywhere when she hears a sound. Not gonna lie I'm about to shit on my pants. I've been scared of ghosts since I was a child. I don't care if they're real or not. It still scares me.

"Hurry up," I said which got her attention and with that the Mina I'm most familiar with which is a person who loves to fight with me stared right back at me and walked past.

"What is her problem? I'm trying to be nice with that rude penguin." I mumbled while gritting my teeth.

"What was that?" She asked. I chuckled nervously and replied...

"Nothing, let's go. I want to win that ticket really bad." I went through a breakup a few weeks ago but the wound is still fresh which is why I don't really open up to others. I just can't seem to trust people easily. It took time with Momo eonnie too but finally, I gave in after I get to know more about her. If I knew the girl who entered my tent was Mina eonnie then I would've been nice to her since she is Momo eonnie's friend and she talked a lot about her too. She seemed nice the way Momo eonnie described her but the Mina I'm with right now is nowhere near nice. Though I'm partly to blame.

"I'll look on the trees and branches while you look for it on the ground and bushes." Mina eonnie said which I agreed to.

We began our search and found a few items such as lovelys, CandyBong and so on.

These are somewhat related to Twice but we're not sure if one of this is the special item so we carried it anyways who knows maybe we're just missing out on something important. We met a few of the other teams such as Momo and Sana eonnie and Jinyoung and Youngjae. They looked scared as well but they were still looking for it.

I'm searching on the bushes like Mina eonnie said when she suddenly called me in a soft tone. That's new.

"Why do you want to win this thing so bad?" She asked. Oh yeah, I told her I really wanted to win this.

"It's because I'm a Once." I simply answered with a smile.

"Really!! Me too!!" She replied enthusiastically.

We have something in common. Maybe this could be the beginning of our friendship.

"Then we should definitely win this and get that ticket. I really wanna see them perform," said I. 

"Same, I miss them so much. I love their comeback." More & More is a freaking bop. Whoever says no bring them to me. I will make them listen to it until they say they love it.

"Don't even start. They were too good. You can clearly see their hard work. I just hope they won't overexert themselves."

"Health comes first," Mina replied.

We continued chatting about Twice while searching for the item. I'm not scared anymore because Mina eonnie is here and talking about Twice surely helps a lot but soon it left, fear-filled my body now that the surrounding is filled with silence. We have nothing to talk about.
