Song: A Million Dreams

(Jackal's POV)

There she goes again calling him an idiot. There's nothing I can do to stop her. Other people would yell at her for it, but I can't. I can't use my powers in front of the DigiDestined. If I did, they'd know I was different.

Boa was talking back and forth with Tamarin, his dad was terrible. Before he was killed, he would make Boa wear dresses and other girly things because Mr. Chirico had wanted a girl.

You see, Boa's mother had been pregnant with twins, but the doctors couldn't see Boa from behind his sister. Boa's mother and sister both died during childbirth. Mr. Chirico had only bought girly clothes like dresses and skirts, so instead of getting new clothes for Boa he just dressed him in the clothes his sister was supposed to wear.

It's terrible to see your best friend being forced to 'like' things he doesn't like. Boa has grown so used to wearing skirts that he can't, physically, stand wearing pants. He hates the way people, especially older men, look at him when he's just walking around.

Sorry, I'm getting off track, I heard Tamarin and Boa starting to yell at each other. Without thinking I threw my hand out in front of me and words emblazoned themselves in the air.

A voice read out the words in the air, "Will both of you just SHUT UP!"

The voice had yelled the last two words, everyone looked at me as Tamarin and Boa both said, "Yes, Jackal. Sorry, Jackal."

One of the people"What was that?"

I looked away, and Tamarin said like it was the most obvious thing in the world, "That was Jackal's power!"

I put my hand out again and the voice said as it spelled, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

Florella grabbed my hand and said, "There's nothing to be sorry for."

The way she said it just brought a smile to my face. It made me feel like there was someone who finally cared about me. It felt like what others described a parent caring about you felt like.

Tony asked, "What powers do you have exactly?"

I put my hand out and the voice projected the words, "I have powers of language translation and projection."

Vierra asked, "Does that mean that you can read and write any language?"

I just nodded and she seemed to accept that answer.

Florella hugged me and asked, "Where do you live?"

I spelled words out in the air, however, this time no voice accompanied them, "I live at the orphanage, Boa lived with his father, Tamarin lives with her mother, and Jaguar lives with his sister Vivie."

"Wait,"  Tony asked, "Doesn't Vivie live with her parents?

Vierra looked away for a moment before she said, "Actually, Vivie and Jaguar's mother disappeared a year ago, and Uncle Cody had been busy, so they hardly even see him. Jaguar isn't even Cody's biological son."

I put my hand out and words appeared in the air again, "Mr. Hida has always treated Jaguar as if he was his biological son.  Mr. Hida is a wonderful man, but he has so much to do with his job and trying to find his wife, that he can't be around the house much."

A figure began to flicker into existence in the middle of everyone, mine and Boa's eyes met. It was unmistakably Jaguar. However, his suit was crumpled and dirty, he was also floating as if he was on the ground.
