Part Fifteen 십오

I get home after a long day of work. Today was one of those days that remind me why I really need to look for another job. I had to create another stupid quiz for in next week's magazine! I bet not one single reader is interested to find out what phone brand would be best for them. Since we get payed to let the only result be Apple, the quiz isn't even legit!

I open the front door with my key and go inside. Yana stands in the living room. She has a night shift today, so she will leave for work in a few minutes.

Yana looks in the mirror while she's trying to fix her hair. "Hey!" She says. "Hey! Ready for work?" I ask her. Yana smiles wide, "Yes!" When I see her cheeks glow, I get closer to her. "Tell me," I tell her. Yana smiles, "I have the same shift as Jim." I smile wide. Since the day she started at that restaurant, she is crushing on some chef named Jim. According to Yana he is the most adorable chef she has ever seen. She is all over him!

"That's amazing! I bet that makes your day even better," I tell her. Yana laughs, "Hell yeah! I get to close off with him!" "Only with him? Just the two of you?" I ask. Yana smiles wide and nods, "Just us." "Use a condom please," I joke. Yana pushes me playfully. "Would you stop?!" She shouts. "He is not even into me!" She says. "Not yet, but I bet after a night all alone with you, he will fall for you," I tell her. Yana smiles wide, "I really hope so..."

I grab my phone and notice I got a message on Instagram. I smile wide and open my DM's, only to see Jimin sent me a message. I really thought it would be Taehyung...

Jimin: Hey Alyssa! Party tonight at our place! You in?

I start to laugh, "No way!" Yana looks at me, so I show her my phone. "That's so cool!" She says. But then I get sad. "But you have to work.." I sigh. Yana gets serious and puts her hands on my shoulders.

"Alyssa, I need you to promise me something, okay?" She asks. "Promise you what?" I ask her. "Promise me that you will take whatever chance they offer you with both of your hands without thinking about me!" She says, "I want you to be happy and be friends with them, even though I can't come with you."

I smile softly. "But it's way more fun with you there as well," I tell her. Yana smiles, "That's really sweet, but you need to let that go. They are your friends and they want you to party with them. So go! Be their friend!" She lets go of me. "Or be more than a friend," She winks at me.

My eyes go big and I start to laugh. "Would you stop?!" I laugh. "Not until I get an invitation for your wedding to Taehyung!" I roll my eyes, "Nothing happened yet!" "Indeed! Nothing happened yet! But it could happen. Even tonight! But it won't happen if you stay home every time I can't join you!" She says.

"But I want you to be friends with them as well..." I sigh. "Don't worry about me. I am perfectly happy with you being friends with them. Don't get me wrong, I will join you every single time I can!" She laughs. I smile wide, "Okay."

Yana smiles back at me. "All I want is for you to be happy. And you won't be happy sitting here at home just because I wasn't able to join you, while your man is out there partying without you!" She says. I laugh, "My man? Really?"

"Yes! I know what I saw during our basketball game. So go party with your man! While I cook and try to take over the heart of my man. Okay?" She asks. I laugh and nod, "Okay!" I hug her tight, "I love you."

Yana lets go of me and smiles. "I love you too. Now go have fun! I'll be at work," she says. She grabs her bag and waves at me. "Good luck!" I tell her and wave her goodbye. Yana closes the door behind her and I take a seat on the sofa.

I look at Jimin's message again. Is it weird that I feel sad that he is the one inviting me instead of Taehyung? I mean, I love all of them, but I felt like my connection with Taehyung was stronger... Or maybe that's just me crushing all over him without him feeling the same.
