Part Thirty-Four 삼십사

The next day Namjoon, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook and I arrive at a big shed. We go inside and I see the entire shed is transformed into a photo studio. On one side of the shed is a huge white screen with a lot of lamps in front of it. The other side of the shed is transformed into a get-ready-zone. I see a few dressing rooms, clothing racks, mirrors, chairs and a few make-up tables.

"You're right on time!" Mitch walks towards us with a huge smile on his face. "Good morning!" Namjoon greets him. "Good morning everyone! Guys, I would like to ask you to go to the dressing rooms and get ready. Alyssa, we go this way!" Mitch says and points towards the other side of the shed.

The guys do what they're told and go over to the dressing rooms, where a few women are already waiting for them. I follow Mitch to the photo studio. "I want to introduce you to our other photographer," Mitch tells me. When we get closer, I see a woman with blond, curly hair and a black outfit. Looking at her very quickly, I would say she is about thirty years old. "Kaylee!" Mitch calls. The woman turns around to us and smiles kindly.

"Say hello to our new photographer," Mitch tells Kaylee. Then he turns to me. "Alyssa, this is Kaylee! She will be your colleague and your supervisor," Mitch tells me. Kaylee looks at me and offers me her hand. "Nice to meet you Alyssa!" She smiles. I shake her hand, "Nice to meet you too Kaylee." She looks really nice and kind!

"Kaylee will tell you everything you need to know today. Also feel free to walk around and take a look at the behind the scenes," Mitch says, "You don't have to film anything yet. Just look around and take some photos with Kaylee in this photo studio." I nod, "I will, thank you!" Mitch smiles and walks away.

I put my bag with my camera down and take a moment to look at the entire studio. "This is great!" I say. I notice all the lamps are high quality and create a great light for photos. I've never taken photos in a setting like this before, but there is a first time for everything.

"So, Alyssa, where are you from?" Kaylee asks me. "I'm from here, L.A." I tell her, "where are you from?" "I'm from Dallas, Texas," Kaylee says. "That's a long way from home! How did you get here?" I ask her. "Well, I've been a photographer for my entire life and a friend helped me get this job. Since then I just travel with the team," she tells me.

I smile, "sounds amazing! How long do you work here?" "About four years," she says. "Oh, so almost since the beginning of BTS?" I ask. Kaylee smiles, "Yes. I am their second photographer. The first one was really bad, so I replaced him." I smile, "Good for you!" Kaylee laughs, "Yeah, you can say that!"

I look around in the room. I see all the guys in the chairs in front of the mirrors. They all have a few women around them, fixing their make-up and hair. They all wear clothes from Fila.

"Why don't I tell you what we're doing today?" Kaylee suggests. I look back at her and smile, "Yes that would be nice." "Okay, so today we need to take photos of the guys in Fila outfits. We'll take a few photos of them together, a few duos and then of them individually," Kaylee explains, "Then the guys change their outfits and we'll do the same thing over and over again."

"How many outfits are we talking about?" I ask her. "I think they all have four or five outfits," Kaylee says, "So it'll take the entire day." I smile and nod. "Is it hard?" I ask her, "Taking photos of them in this setting? I've taken some photos of them for fun and they could not stand still." Kaylee laughs, "Well, the photos of them all together and the duos are always a bit hard, because you need to make sure every single one of them looks good. But they are professionals and they know if they mess around the entire time, this photo shoot takes forever and we're not leaving before we have all the photos we need."

I smile wide, "It must have been hard for you over all these years." Kaylee laughs, "You have no idea! The beginning was the worst. They were all so young and all they cared about was to joke around. But luckily, they learned to behave." I laugh, "I am so sorry for you!" Kaylee laughs, "thank you!"
