Part Sixteen 십육

Taehyung and I go into the living room, to the others. We take a seat on the sofa and look at the TV. Jungkook, Jimin, Namjoon and Suga play Mario Cart. Looking at the boys' faces, Jungkook is winning. Jimin screams when Namjoon fires a red shield at him. Namjoon laughs and I see he passes Jimin right in front of the finish.

Jungkook jumps up and cheers. "I won!" He laughs. Suga cheers as well. "Second!" He smiles. Namjoon looks at Jimin and smiles. "Beat yah!" Namjoon laughs. Jimin puts his controller down and sighs. He says something in Korean what sounds like a swearword and the others laugh.

"There's a girl here!" Jin laughs. "Tae is always here," Jimin laughs, "No difference!" We all laugh with him. Taehyung throws a pillow that hits Jimin right in his face. "Shut up!" Taehyung laughs.

Then J-hope looks at me. "Alyssa, are you any good?" He asks. I smile wide, "Try me!" Jimin gives me his controller. Taehyung takes over Namjoon's controller, J-hope takes Jungkook's controller and Jin takes Suga's. We all choose a character – I choose Yoshi – and choose a course.

"Good luck!" Jimin tells me. I smile wide, "Thanks, but you better tell these guys!"

The countdown starts and I start great! Within a few seconds, I'm third behind J-hope and Taehyung. When Taehyung drops a banana right in front of J-hope, what makes him spin, I pass J-hope quickly. J-hope groans but comes right after me.

I take every turbo I can get and take the fastest roads. "She is right behind you, Tae!" Jungkook says. Taehyung laughs, "You can't beat me!" I smile wide, "Challenge accepted!" The other guys cheer. "Go Ali, you got this!" Namjoon says. I smile wide.

We start the last lap. I smile wide when I get an red shield. "Any last words?" I ask Taehyung. "You won't win!" Taehyung says. I smile wide and fire the red shield at him. "We'll see about that!"

The red shield hits him. He spins and slows down, so I pass him easily. "No!" Taehyung shouts dramatically. I start to laugh when I see the finish in sight. "Who is the winner again?" I ask. But right before I get to the finish, a blue shield hits me. "NO!" I shout. Then Jin passes me and crosses the finish right before me.

Jin jumps up and cheers. "I won!" He shouts. Taehyung, J-hope and I put our controller down and look at Jin. "You bastard!" Taehyung says. Jin laughs, "You were too busy fighting each other! I could pass right through!" Jin does a victory dance and everybody starts to laugh.

I look at Taehyung. "What do you say? Rematch?" I ask him. Taehyung grins and nods. "Definitely!" Taehyung says. "Let's do a battle!" Jimin says. "Balloon battle!" Jungkook says. "Yes! Me and JK versus Ali and Tae," Jimin says. Taehyung looks at me, asking me without words if I agree. "Let's do it!" I say.

The game starts. Taehyung and I have a great start. Within a minute we eliminated two of the other team. But then we see that Jungkook and Jimin eliminate another from our team as well. "Let's get Jimin," Taehyung whispers. "Okay," I smile and grab a weapon. I got a red shield, which is really great!

Taehyung finds Jimin quickly. "He's here!" Taehyung says. I find Taehyung and fire my red shield on Jimin. "No!" Jimin shouts. Taehyung and I laugh and get another weapon. "Banana!" Taehyung says. "Me too!" I tell him when I see I got a banana as well.

Then I see Jungkook. I grin and follow him. "I'm coming for you JK!" I laugh. "No you won't!" Jungkook laughs. I throw my banana at him, but he dodges it, only to be hit by Taehyung's banana. "No!" Jungkook shouts. Taehyung and I laugh and give each other a high five.

The game ends. Taehyung and I won! We jump up and do our victory dance. "We won!" We shout. The others laugh, except for Jungkook and Jimin, who look at us angrily. "We want a rematch!" Jimin says. "We will beat you anytime, anywhere," Taehyung laughs.
