Part One Hundred and Seven 백칠

"Hey," I say when I join the guy standing alone at the standing table. He looks at me and looks a little confused. "Hey," he says. I immediately notice he is one of the people who presented an award tonight. I think he was an actor or something. "I'm sorry for walking up to you like this," I tell him, "I just saw you standing here and I think you were really great up there." He immediately starts to smile. "Thank you! No worries. I'm glad you liked it. I was actually really scared. I never presented an award before," he says.

I smile wide and lean my arm on the table. "Really? I couldn't tell. I'd say you did that at least a million times," I say. The guy laughs, "Thanks! I am Ian by the way." "Nice to meet you, Ian, I am Alyssa," I say. We shake hands and I see how he looks at my dress. "Nice to meet you too, Alyssa. You look really pretty," he says. I smile, "Thank you. I feel a little overdressed, since most other girls in here wear very short dresses."

Ian laughs, "Yeah, well these girls are all artists and I believe they are scared of wearing something that hides their bodies." I laugh at his joke, "I think so too!" I touch my hair and tilt my head a little. "So what do you do, Ian? Besides presenting an award," I joke. Ian laughs and starts to talk.

I immediately look over to the table of my friends and notice Taehyung's eyes on me. He holds a glass of champagne with one hand and I see his other hand on the table. When I look at his face, I see an angry look in his eyes. I see how he clenches his jaw and narrows his eyes a little. When our eyes meet, he quickly looks away from me like he is hiding his emotions. This might actually work! He looks really jealous to me.

"So what do you do, Alyssa?" Ian asks me. I tear my eyes away from Taehyung and look back at Ian. I see a small smile on his face. I smile back to him. "I am a photographer," I tell him. He looks impressed, "Really? That is amazing! Are you shooting anything interesting?" I giggle and touch my hair again, "This and that." Ian laughs, "Sounds great! I actually want to do a photo shoot soon, do you think you have time for me?" I laugh a little. "I wish I did, but I am afraid I am fully booked," I tell him. "That's too bad," he says.

He looks at the empty glass in his hand and then he looks at me. "Do you want a drink?" He offers. I look back at the table I came from. "You know, I actually already had I drink. I'll go get that," I tell Ian. He smiles and nods, "Okay!"

I walk away from him and go back to the table. I casually stand beside Taehyung and make sure not to look at him. "Excuse me," I say when I grab my glass from the table. When I am about to walk away again, Taehyung grabs my arm to stop me. I finally look at him and see an angry look in his eyes. "What are you doing?" He asks. His voice sounds even more dark when his anger mixes with his low voice.

I try to act innocent and look at him with a small smile. "Nothing, I just came to take my glass and go back to talk to Ian, why?" I ask. Taehyung clenches his jaw and he keeps looking at me with his dark and dangerous eyes.

"Taehyung is jealous!" Jin laughs. "No, I'm not," Taehyung quickly says. He lets go of my arm and looks away from me. I look at him and feel challenged. He still won't admit he can get jealous? I thought after this little game he would come clean and admit he gets jealous as well. But clearly he still tries to play it cool. Well, if he wants to play, we can play.

"Okay," I say, "Well then I see no reason to stay here. If you need me, I'll be over there!" I smile and wave to everyone as I walk back to Ian with my glass of champagne. I realise I am being really childish now, but if Taehyung doesn't back down neither will I. Everyone already knows he is jealous, but if this is how he wants to play, then game on.

Ian smiles wide when I return to him. "Hey, there you are again," he smiles. "Yes, here I am," I smile. I lift my glass, "cheers!" Ian laughs and let his glass cling with mine. "Cheers!" He smiles. We both take a sip and put our glasses down again.
