Party Thirty-Five 삼십오

The next day, it is time for the first practice in a concert hall. It feels kind of strange, since the tour doesn't start for at least five months, but I guess there is a lot of work to do. Before the tour starts, they have a small tour planned in Japan. It's a tour of their new Japanese album Face Yourself, which is coming out soon. But since they've practiced a lot for these shows, they mostly focus on the big tour later this year.

We all enter the concert hall for the first time. The stage is already shaped like it will be at the tour and all the seats are ready. If you'd invite some fans in here, the concert can already start. Except we're not ready for that, yet.

I walk next to Namjoon and look around. I've been in a concert hall before, but I've never seen it empty and I have never seen it in the BTS style. I see huge screens at the back of the stage. The middle two are shaped in the logo of BTS. I smile wide and am amazed. This is great!

"Cool huh?" Namjoon smiles. I nod and smile wide, "it is incredible! This is where we get to practice for the next couple of months?" Namjoon smiles, "Yeah, as long as we can claim this hall for practice." I laugh, "Great!"

Mitch climbs on the stage to get everyone's attention. We're with quite a big group: BTS, the technical team for sound and lights, dancers, Jesse the choreographer, Kaylee, Mitch and me. We all look at Mitch. "Today we will be practicing a part of the setlist on stage. This wil also be the first try out with all the dancers, so let's see how that's gonna go. Today is all about try out, practice and just feel how the songs and dances feel in a big hall," Mitch says.

Then he looks at BTS. "Guys, I would like to ask you to get your earbuds and microfoons and get on the stage," Mitch says, "Dancers, you can get on the stage as well and get ready. Kaylee and Alyssa, your job is to just watch. If you feel like filming for backstage footage, please do! Jesse, you take it from here." Everyone agrees and do what they're told.

Kaylee and I find a nice spot in front of the main-stage. BTS and their dancers take place on the stage. Jesse stands in front of them, also on the stage. He also has a microfoon, to communicate with the technical team. "Okay, let's start with a warming up, a song you've done before on a stage like this, just to get the feeling again," Jesse says. He turns around to Kaylee and me. "Ladies, why don't you give us a song?"

Kaylee and I take a moment to think, but I already know what song to pick. "Save Me," I tell Jesse. I try not to look at Taehyung but I notice how has has to keep himself from laughing. When I look at him, I see he covers his face to hide his blushing cheeks.

"Taehyung, are you okay?" Jesse asks him. Taehyung nods and turns serious again. "Yeah, I just really like Save Me," he says. I try not to stare at him and look at the floor. A big, happy smile forms at my face and I try to ignore the butterflies in my belly. I notice how Jimin and Jungkook look from Taehyung to me and start to laugh a little.

Luckily, Jesse lets it go. "Okay, let's start the music!" He tells the tech-team. They play the music and everyone starts to dance and sing. I can't help myself and quietly do the fanchant. Kaylee looks at me and laughs. "You know that too?" She asks. I smile proudly, "Hell yeah, I do!" Kaylee laughs, "Do you know the dance routine as well?" I smile, "A little. Do you?" "Well, I've seen all of them at least a hundred times, so yes, I know them very well," she laughs.

I smile and look back at the guys. They really sing and dance their heart out, even though it is just a practice. "I bet you'll learn fast!" Kaylee tells me. I smile, "Well, if I'll see it every day, I think I will know it soon!" Kaylee agrees with a smile. We watch the rest of the song in quiet.

Okay, that's a lie. Kaylee and I both sing along and even try parts of the dance routine. Kaylee wasn't wrong, she really knows the routine! I try to join the routine during the song, what makes the guys laugh.

"You're really bad, Ali!" J-hope laughs as the song ends. "Thank god you're not a real dancer!" Jin laughs. Kaylee explains the dance of the chorus to me. I do my best to do what she does, but it is really hard. Even the guys help me and show me what to do. They also sing the song slowly so I know what to do and when.

After a few minutes, I finally got the chorus. Everyone cheers. "Congrats, you're not the worst student!" Jimin jokes. I laugh and do the dance routine one last time. I smile and feel my cheeks blush as I hear Taehyung softly say "I save you." Everyone looks a little confused, but I know what he's saying. I try not to look at him and stop my dance.

"Okay, let's move on to the next song!" Jesse says, "Let's start with Fake Love! The last practice went really well, so I'm counting on you!" Everyone takes their positions. Jesse looks at Jungkook. "Just like we've practiced, okay?" He asks Jungkook. Jungkook nods, "Yes."

Jesse looks at Kaylee and me. "Are you ready, ladies?" He grins. I laugh, "I've seen this one a few times, you know that!" Jesse smiles wide, "Yeah, but you haven't seen the new update." Jesse puts his thumb up to the tech-guys and gives BTS the space they need. Fake Love starts and they start to sing and dance.

Everything seems normal. A few small things have changed and I notice everyone's timing is a little better. But then the chorus starts. Jungkook takes the front. Again, everything seems normal. Until Jungkook lifts his shirt a little bit and shows his belly button.

Kaylee and I are surprised and I feel the fangirl inside of me scream of happiness. Kaylee looks at me and laughs, "Did he just...?" I laugh with her, "I guess he did!" We both laugh as true girls and watch the rest of the performance. Jungkook lifts his shirt a little bit at every chorus. Kaylee even tries to get it on camera. She succeeds and proudly shows me the picture. You can see like half his belly. I laugh and roll my eyes. Even though it is really cute to see Jungkook's belly, I'd rather see someone else's...

When the song ends, they all grab a bottle of water. "What did you think?" Jesse asks Kaylee and me. We both smile wide. "It was a great update!" Kaylee smiles. "Yes, the fans will absolutely love it and they will thank you on their bare knees!" I laugh. Jesse smiles proudly, "that's what I wanted to hear!" We all look at Jungkook, who looks really shy all of a sudden. "Well, JK, I think you have to work out even more!" Jin jokes. Jungkook laughs, "I guess so!" Kaylee and I laugh. "Don't worry about it, you look amazing!" Kaylee says. "Yes," I agree, "It's an amazing view!" Jungkook laughs with blushing cheeks.

"Can we do the next song, please?" Taehyung asks. When I look at him, he looks really annoyed and he doesn't look at me. The other guys just laugh at him. "Don't worry, Tae, you look great as well!" Jimin laughs. Taehyung rolls his eyes, "Can we move on now?" Everyone stays quiet for a beat. While everyone was just kidding, Taehyung looks really annoyed. "Yeah, sure! Let's do Mic Drop next!" Jesse suggests. Everyone takes their positions again and the music starts.
