The next day Taehyung and I wake up in my old bed. Taehyung's arms are wrapped around me and hold me close to him. Even though I had an amazing time with my grandma yesterday, I am incredibly nervous for today... Today will be the last time I will see her. It will be the last time I could hug her and tell her how much she means to me... I am not at all ready to say goodbye to her.
I couldn't sleep at all last night. Every time I closed my eyes, I thought about today. I thought about the things I should say to her. I feel like there are still a million unspoken words that I want to say to her. I can think of at least half as much things I wanted to do with her. All these things we will never be able to do together...
Taehyung moves beside me and slowly opens his eyes. I've spend most of my night just lying here, looking at him. I'm glad he didn't wake up, because it would be pretty weird since I was watching him sleep. "Good morning," he says. He moves closer to me and puts a kiss on my head. "Good morning," I say and try to smile.
Immediately he looks worried. "Are you okay?" He asks. I guess my fake smile isn't a good smile at all. "I'm not..." I confess, "I couldn't sleep." Taehyung hugs me even tighter. "Really?" He asks, "Baby, why didn't you wake me?" "Because you looked so peaceful while sleeping," I tell him. Taehyung smiles, "Next time, just wake me. It sucks being awake by yourself." I smile and wrap my arms around him as well. "It's really sweet, but I had a lovely time looking at you," I tell him. Taehyung laughs, "Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it." "Very much," I assure him and kiss his lips.
We both get out of bed and get dressed. Our flight back home is at four, so we are able to see my grandma again today. Once we're both dressed and ready to be in public, we go downstairs. We find my parents in the living room, watching TV. I immediately get nervous. Yesterday, we were able to avoid facing my dad, so we never spoke after our fight. I really hope he doesn't continue the fight today, because I am not in the mood.
"Good morning!" My mom smiles, "We have fresh bread, coffee and tea in the kitchen. Help yourselves." I smile at her, "Good morning and thank you." I look at the TV and see they're watching a program that talks about the news around the celebrities and that kind of stuff. I used to love this program and watched it every day, but not anymore. Now I realize they are a bit offensive and don't respect the privacy of the celebraties.
Taehyung and I go into the kitchen. We both eat a sandwich with jam for breakfast with a cup of coffee. "What time do you want to go to your grandma?" Taehyung asks me, "We need to leave for the airport around half past two." I nod, "I want to go see her as soon as she is ready to see us." I look at my hands holding my cup of coffee. I already feel emotional and I bet I won't keep it dry today...
Taehyung puts his arm around my shoulders. "I know today will be hard for you, but I am right here, okay?" He says. I look at him and smile wide. "Thank you," I tell him. "If there is anything I can do for you, let me know," he says, "Literally anything. I'd be happy to sing you any song you'd like." I smile, "You already know the song I'd want to hear." Taehyung laughs, "I do, but I want to give you the option to pick another song, if you want." He leans in and kisses my lips.
"I love you baby," he says, "You are very strong, stronger than you think. Today we will do our best to give you and your grandma the best possible way to say goodbye. Okay?" I nod and already feel tears burning in my eyes. "Thank you," I tell him, "I love you too and I am really glad you're here with me." Taehyung puts a soft kiss on my nose. "Anytime, baby," he says.
"Alyssa!" My mom calls, "Look at this!" I feel confused, stand up and go into the living room. Taehyung follows me quickly. My mam smiles wide and points at the screen of the TV. "You're on TV!" She says.
She is right. On the screen we see a video of Taehyung and me at the airport in L.A. We see a lot of fans around us, screaming for attention. "Yesterday, one of the members of BTS was spotted at the airport with a girl," the voiceover says, "Besides the fact that fans were really happy to see the singer V, they are also wondering who the girl might be. There is no record of the singer dating anyone." I sigh deeply and feel a little nervous. They can't figure out about us...
"Damn, we look good!" Taehyung jokes and puts his arm around my shoulders. I laugh and relax a little. I guess Taehyung is used to this kind of media and I guess he tries to let me laugh about it before I take it too seriously.
"We spoke to the singer's management about it, but according to them the girl is part of the crew and is a very close friend of the singer," the voiceover says. The voiceover lets it go and they move onto the next part of the program. My mom turns around to Taehyung and me. "Well, at least your management knows how to lie!" She smiles. I look from her to Taehyung. I've told my mom about the entire situation before, but clearly she doesn't know who I meant when I said nobody is allowed to know about our relationship.
I look at Taehyung, asking him without words if we should explain it or let it go. "Actually..." Taehyung starts, "Nobody knows about our relationship." My mom nods, "Yeah, we know. But your management knows, right?" "No, they don't," I tell her. My dad looks at us and looks confused. I pray he would let it slide, but of course he wants to share his opinion.
"Wait, your management doesn't know?" he asks. "That's right. We don't want many people to know," Taehyung explains. My dad looks at me, "So nobody except your friends and us know about the relationship?" "Well, and my family," Taehyung says. I look at him and smile.
"Why?" My dad asks, "I mean, you are not supposed to have secrets for your management, I assume." Taehyung smiles a little uncomfortably. "That's right, but I rather keep it hidden than hear all their opinions about it," he says. He looks at me and smiles. "Agreed," I smile.
Taehyung and I go back into the kitchen and I clean up the mess we made. "Now you're exposed to the fans, I should tell you that this is probably the time the ARMY will do anything to find information about you," Taehyung says. I turn around to him and feel a little scared. I mean, I know that the ARMY is almost like the FBI. They have connections everywhere and I know they find the most random information about BTS. Will they all try to find information about me?
Taehyung walks over to me and wraps his arms around me. "Don't worry, you'll be fine," he smiles, "Just know that you will probably get a lot of new followers on social media in the next days or weeks." I smile and hug him tight. "As long as they stay on social media, I'm okay with it," I tell him.
Taehyung lets go of me and looks at me. "Be aware that everyone will have an opinion about you, but don't listen to anything bad, okay?" He asks. He looks really worried. "We know what's true about you and what's a total lie," he says. I smile and kiss his cheek. "Yes, we do," I tell him.
I grab my phone out of my pocket and see already some notifications on Twitter. I laugh and open my Twitter. Taehyung stands next to me and looks at my phone with me. I see a lot of people asking me if I was the one on the airport with Taehyung. It looks like nobody is sure it's me, but they are just asking. I also see a few videos and photos on my Twitter from that moment on the airport along with photos of my Twitter. People are discussing if it is really me or not.
"That's what I mean," Taehyung laughs, "But they are even faster than I thought." I laugh with him, "They already found me!" Taehyung puts his arm around my waist. "Promise me one thing," he says, "If you receive any hate, just tell me." I look at him and smile wide. "I will, thank you," I say and turn around to him. I put my hands in his neck and kiss his lips. Taehyung puts his hands on my hips and kisses me back. "I love you," I tell him. "I love you too," he says.
I look at my phone again and see I got a text. For a second I feel scared. Did the ARMY find my phone number already?! But then I see it's from my grandma. She might be old and sick, but she sure knows how to text!
Grandma: You and your handsome man are welcome to come over if you have time!
I smile wide and show Taehyung the text. He laughs, "Well, let's go then!" I nod and put my phone back in my pocket. I take a moment and take a deep breath. When I feel calm, I inform my parents that Taehyung and I are visiting grandma and get my jacket. Taehyung gives me a quick kiss and then we go to my grandma. For the last time...
