Part Eighty-Three 여든삼

The next day, I sit behind my desk at work. I can't stop feeling nervous. Yesterday, my boss Joan told me she would discuss my contract and the entire situation with her boss and get back at me with the result.

I can't stop looking at her office. Every time I hear a door open, it feels like it is her door. She is in her office right now, having an online meeting with her boss. Her boss is out of the city today, but made time for Joan to discuss this matter. I am glad they see the urge behind this and are able to discuss it as soon as possible.

I look at the clock. It is almost time to go home... I really hope Joan is done soon so I can get my answer.

Like it is meant to be, the door of Joan's office opens and she appears in the door opening. I turn around to her and see a small smile on her face. "Alyssa, can you come in for a moment?" She asks me.

I feel the nerves in my body and stand up. I take one last look at Josh, who smiles at me to support me. I smile back at him and walk into Joan's office. I close the door behind me. Joan takes a seat behind her desk and tells me to take a seat as well. I take a seat at the other side of her desk and look at her.

I feel incredibly nervous. I really hope they will take Taehyung's offer to let me go sooner. It would mean the world to me to be able to join him on his world tour as soon as possible.

"Well, Alyssa, as you know I just had my meeting with my boss to discuss your offer," Joan tells me. I nod and wait patiently for her to say the word. "I think you will be happy to hear we accept the offer," Joan says with a smile.

I literally jump out of my chair and cheer a little. I feel excitement and happiness race through my body. "Oh my god! Thank you so much!" I tell her. Joan laughs at my non-professional way of answering. "You're welcome," she laughs.

I take a seat again and look at her, feeling a huge smile on my face. "We do ask you to finish what you're working on right now, but you are free to go on Friday," Joan informs me. I nod and can't stop smiling. Even though I really loved this job and I would miss the people here, I can't wait to get back to my old job.

After Joan and I discussed the details and handled the paperwork, I leave her office. Josh looks at me. "And?" He asks. I smile wide, "Friday is my last day!" Josh smiles wide and hugs me. "I am so happy for you!" He says.

I hug him back and hold him tight. "But I will miss you very much," I tell him. Josh laughs a little, "I will miss you too. But we will stay in touch! But you get to live the life of your dreams. You deserve this and there is no way I would ever stop you from living it."

I let go of him and smile at him. "Thank you, Josh, you are an amazing friend," I tell him. Josh smiles wide, "so are you. We will have an amazing time these last few days!" I nod, "yes, we will!"

Since it is time to go home, we both grab our stuff and leave the building. On my way home, I listen to the most happy BTS songs and sing along as loud as I can, feeling the happiness in my bones.

I park my car in front of the house and go inside. Sadly, Yana is at work so I can't share the news with her, but I will tell her as soon as she gets home. I put my bag on the floor and grab my phone. I can't wait to call Taehyung and tell him the amazing news.

But as I unlock my phone, I see Kaylee is calling me. I smile and answer it immediately. "Hey!" I tell her. "Hey! You sound really happy!" She notices. I laugh, "Well, I was actually about to call Tae to tell him the news first, but since you were faster, I'll tell you first," I tell her, "I am able to join you this weekend!" I nearly scream through my phone.

Kaylee cheers and nearly screams back at me. "Oh my god! That is amazing!" She says. I laughs, "yes it is! I am so happy! I can't wait to tell Taehyung!"
