Part Seventy-One 칠십일

"You want a day off?" My boss, Joan, asks me, "Today?" I smile wide and nod. "Yes, I know it's crazy since I'm already here, but I really want to take today off," I tell her. The nerves still race through my bones. I don't think they will ever go away. At least, not while Taehyung is literally in the same building.

Joan looks at her agenda and looks a little doubtful. "I promise I will work even more and even harder on the next few days," I tell her, "But I really need to take today off." She looks at me and looks a little confused. "You need to take today off? Is it an emergency?" She asks.

I doubt for a second to just tell her it is indeed an emergency, but I can't lie. Even though it feels like it is, it is not an emergency. "No, it's not. But it is really important to me," I explain. Joan crosses her arms. "Does it has something to do with that guy that just walked in? You know, that guy you practically jumped?" She asks.

I smile wide and nod. "Yes. He is my friend and I haven't seen him in a very long time. Today is the only day we can spend together before he leaves again," I tell her, "I didn't know he would have time for me, so I didn't plan this day." Joan looks at me. A smile appears on her face.

"Well, Alyssa," she starts, "You are one of my best employees and you've worked really hard this week. Go ahead, take today off." I smile wide and feel a wave of joy rush through my body. "Thank you so much! I promise I will work extra hard next week," I tell her. Joan smiles and shakes her head. "Don't worry about it. You work really hard already. Enjoy this day off and I'll see you Monday," she says.

I smile and feel like I could hug her, but I won't. "Thank you so much!" I tell her. I go to the door of her office and go into the hall. "Wait, Alyssa," Joan stops me. I turn around to her. "Your friend..." She starts, "Is he a model?" I smile wide, "He could be." Joan laughs, "Yes, I agree! Also... is he single?"

Joan is like thirty years old, so I guess she is interested in Taehyung as well. I feel a little hint of jealousy in my bones, but I know Taehyung loves me. Even after not seeing each other for six months, he still loves me. He wouldn't pick Joan over me. I know he won't. Even though we're not together anymore.

"No, he isn't," I tell her, trying not to smile too much. Joan sighs, but smiles, "Too bad. Well, nothings lasts forever." I smile politely, "That's true." Before she says something more about Taehyung, I close the door and go back through the hall.

As I get back to the conference room where I left him, I see he leans against the table with his phone in his hands. I take a moment to look at him through the window without him noticing. His hair is pink and even though I prefer his own color, it looks really good. It makes him look even younger. 

I open the door, what makes Taehyung look up from his phone. He puts his phone in his pocket and looks at me. "Well?" He asks hopefully. I try not to smile too big. "I can have today off," I tell him. Taehyung jumps up and the biggest smile I have ever seen appears on his face. "Yeah!" He shouts. He runs over to me and hugs me tight. As I feel his arms around me, my body heats up. I quickly wrap my arms around him as well and hold him tight. 

When I let go of him, I get serious again. "But before this day starts, I need to know a few things," I tell him. Taehyung lets go of me and looks at me. "Sure," he says, trying to be serious as well. "For six months we were not allowed to have any form of contact," I say, "What is going on now? Like, apperantly we are allowed to spend the day together, so are we allowed to be friends? Because, I think you need to know something..." Taehyung stays quiet and lets me say what I want to say.

"I know we promised to move on, but I couldn't. I still love you Taehyung, I always have and I always will," I tell him, "I want nothing more than to be your girlfriend again, but I know I'm not allowed to. So I just need to know for sure: Am I allowed to kiss you? Because I really want to..." Even though I sound incredibly desperate, I need him to know this.
