My heart was beating out of my chest as I was trying my best to make it back. I wanted to grab something super special for Onika to show that I was dead serious about our relationship and marriage. I hit my pull off and made it to the house. My Mom was outside looking nervous but relaxed when she saw me. I got out and she straightened my jacket before speaking.
"Bey, you're here. Did you get it?"
"Yes, I got them. I'm sorry it took so long."
Mom nodded before kissing my cheek and walking with me to the house. I went out to the event and Normani walked me to my place in my newly renovated barn. Everything looked good and I was pleased. This was how it was always supposed to be, even if Onika was pregnant. Everyone was smiling and taking my picture and I handed off my gift to Rob to stashed it in her jacket pocket.
