CHAPTER 11

NARIAH RIYE VELNIROÑIA

"Where are we going?" Tanong ko kay Raiko habang naglalakad.

"Wait, until you see..." Napangiwi naman ako sa sagot niya. Sana kasi sumama kami kina Vera. Nagugutom pa naman ako.

Maya-maya ay nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang tumambad sa'kin ang isang pamilyar na garden.

Mabilis na tumakbo ako dito at nagtatalon-talon. Ngiting-ngiti kong inamoy ang mga bulaklak at pinitas ito tsaka ko inilagay sa'king tenga.

"Why so happy?" He suddenly asked while watching me. "I missed this garden noh! It's been a while!" I happily said.

"Do you remember? This garden is where we first talked to each other." I slowly smile then nodded at him. "Yeah, sinita mo pa ako dahil balak kong pumunta ng forbidden forest right?"

"Well we can visit the forbidden forest." He suddenly said. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. "Really?!" Tumango siya at sinenyasan akong sumunod sa kaniya.

THIRD PERSON

Naglakad na papuntang forbidden forest sila Nariah at Raiko.

Maganda. Maaliwalas. Mapayapa. At makulay. Iyon ang magandang idescribe sa ganda ng forbidden forest.

Hindi makapaniwalang tumingin-tingin sa paligid si Nariah. Lahat ng makikita niyang hiwaga ay kaniyang hinahawakan.

Raiko is only watching Nariah doing some things. He smiled when Nariah suddenly sneeze.

"Do you like flowers that much?" He asked to the girl who continue to smell the flowers. "Yeah, really love it!" Nariah answered.

"Wait for me here. I'm going to get something." Raiko said, Nariah just nodded at him.

Nang makaalis na si Raiko ay patuloy parin si Nariah sa pagpitas ng mga bulaklak ng biglang sumakit ang isa niyang mata. Ang kaniyang pulang mata.

"Argh! Why now?!" She said to herself.

"You musn't remove that eye, Riye."

Humangin ng malakas ang kinaroroonan ni Nariah. She's confused now because she heard someone called her second name.

"Who are you? Show yourself!"

"You decided that you'II be removing that eye for the sake of others right?"

Gulat na lumingon-lingon sa paligid si Nariah.

How did she know? Tanong niya sa kaniyang sarili.

"You mustn't remove that eye, Riye. That eye is part of yourself. If you remove that eye, all of your emotion will be gone. Vischkana's efforts will be in vain."

Nanigas si Nariah sa kaniyang kinatatayuan at hindi alam kung ano ang kaniyang gagawin.

"If I don't remove my other eye, people around me will get hurt because of me! I can't risk their lives just for my sake!"

"You're not doing it for yourself, you're just doing it because of them. How about you? Are you not getting tired of sacrificing all you have? How about Vischkana's sacrifice?"
