Moving Day and Just Friends

Jughead POV
Today is the day I move in with Betty and her mother. I pack up what little I have apart from a typewriter my Dad bought me and put them in the boot of the car my dad has. My dad said he'll drive ahead whilst I get any last items before I can take my motorcycle and drive off to the house.
I pace around the rooms in the trailer, this is my childhood home, I've lived here all my life pretty much. When my dad had drinking problems I did move out for a short time and was homeless but I came back when he got more sober.
I then eventually close the door and walk down the stairs.
Taking one last look at the trailer, I turn around, place a helmet on and start the engine.

Later in the day:
I move into the room near to Betty's where her sister used to sleep and set up everything.
My room has a slight view into Archie's house but I can't see as much as Betty can.
This move does help with the baby project which is ending next week. I have liked my time as a father figure but I do like less drama that we can sort out without crying babies in the way.
I'll probably never have kids till I have a secure job and after college
After cleaning up I collapse onto my bed and stare up to the ceiling. I hear a soft knock on my door and I shout, "come in!"
"Hey boy, room looks good!" My dad says
"Yeah it's bigger then both our rooms in the trailer,"
"It sure is, how are you dealing with this?"
"You've given me time dad, and I thank you for that so yes I'm okay with this but I'm still accepting the fact you and mum are over."
"I understand dinners almost done, so come set the table,"
"Huh never done that before."
We laugh and I get up and go downstairs to the dining area. I place down all the place mats and set out the plates.
"Huh your a natural boy!"
I smile to myself and sit down waiting. Betty comes down after and sits with me.
"Hey I haven't seen you all day, how's the room?"
"It's great, very big. And I got a bit of a view of Archie's bathroom so I don't know what polly has seen over the years but so far I've seen a topless Archie."
We both laugh and Betty says, "she always liked Archie, now I understand why, I mean I liked Archie but not just because of his abs." I notice how she says liked. Progress.
"Where's Peter?"
"Upstairs asleep, that's all he does these coming days coming to the end. Weirdly enough I'm gonna miss him being around. Ugh I might have baby fever!" She face palms herself and laughs.
"Yeah I understand that but I'm not having kids not till after college."
"Yeah I'll probably do the same,"
Dinner is eventually done, and our parents sits down.
"So here's to our first official dinner together!" My dad says and races his glass, and we all do the same
"Let's eat!" Her mother says.

The next day at the Whyte Wyrm:
"Nah Sweet Pea I'm stronger then you!" I argue
"In your dreams Jones!"
"Really you want to try me!"
"Boys boys calm down! No fighting in front of my guest." Toni says coming in
Guest?
"Who Toni?" Sweet pea asks
"Meet Abigail, or Abby for short!"
A beautiful, tall, blonde haired women walks in. She had on a serpent jacket but her one said somewhere else. She looked my age too.
"Hey and who's this handsome guy?"
"If your talking about that?" Sweets says pointing at me, "Jughead,"
"Ooo I get the feeling we're going to get along very well," she flirts, touching my beanie.
"Oh yeah I definitely think so," I reply smiling, "hey Toni can I speak to you for a sec?"
We go into a private room and I say, " um what are you doing?"
"Look I don't think Betty likes you, I'm sorry if that sounds harsh and hurts but she doesn't, I've asked, so I think that you should move on maybe with Abby. I mean she's a nice attractive girl, give her a chance."
I feel like I've just been punched in the face. Way to be nice about that Toni, just rip the band aid right off.
"Look I'm sorry Toni I'll be nice but it won't happen."
"Fine, but she's available when you want her!" She shouts as I leave.
"Oh Juggie there you are!" Abby sequels
Like don't get me wrong, she's really pretty, but I like Betty.

Later at home

I hear a knock on my bedroom door.
"Come in!"
"Hey Jug!" It's Betty
"Hey Betts, what up?"
"I have to make something clear, we're just friends right?"
Toni was right, Betty was still in her delusions with Archie and her in the future
"Yeah yeah we are,"
"Ok, omg I didn't want any tension between us!" She jumps of my bed and skips out the door.
I then get my phone and text Toni saying,
J- do you have Abbys number?
T-something happen with Betty?
J-yep, can I have her number please Toni?
T-okay here
*** ***** ****
J- thanks, I'm gonna give her a try
T- have fun!
