Baby project: a bughead story

Halfway there

Betty POV
Today I'm having an appointment to find out how far along I am. I'm not sure whether this happened drunk or just me and jug together.

Reggie is coming next week once everything is packed and Veronica is setting up the pembrooke so my mum said she'll come with.

We get to the doctors and wait.
"I'm scared mum."
"Don't be. I'll be right here Betty."
"Elizabeth Cooper!" Someone shouts

I get up with my mum and follow them to the doctor.
"Ah miss Cooper hello, how are we today?"
"Nervous."
"That's normal don't worry now could you lie on the bed I'll start the check up."

He asks me different questions and checks my blood and all that.
"Ah so you are 8 weeks along."
"What?" My mum shouts
"How!" I say
"Um I'm sure you know how." He reply's
"Betty you 8 weeks along!" My mum says
"Yeah."

We get back home after and I lie in bed. I'm 8 weeks along. Wait I've had some alcohol over the last few weeks.
I decide to call the doctor and he says as long as I don't have anymore I should be fine, it was early.

Then I start contemplating whether to tell jug now or wait. I think I should because he has a right to know but he acts like 'oh kids are in the way, I'll probably never have one. Don't want one ever.'

I was is so deep thought I didn't realise jellybean was at the door.
"Thinking about whether to tell Jughead or not?"
"You are quite the detective!"
"I think you should, seeing as it's happening now, not when he has a job it light be different. This baby could persuade him to try harder."
"I guess so."

I then hear another knock on the door.
Jughead.
"Hey Betty can we talk?"
"Yeah okay." I say
"Tell him." Jelly whispers
I give her a look and she grins.
She leaves and jug sits on my bed in front of me.

"So uh yesterday I'm sorry for yelling like that. I just needed to remind myself it's not my choice or say in the matter." Jug begins saying
"It's okay Jug. Don't worry about it."
"But are you sure about dropping out, you said Yale was your dream and Polly saying you had a dream and all, I'm confused."
He put me on the spot now and I guess I should tell him, "so uh, that's not the reason I'm dropping out."
"What is it then?"
I take a deep breathe and just say, "I'm pregnant Jughead, with your baby."

Jughead POV
She's what! SHES WHAT! She's pregnant, with MY baby. Is that why polly was so adamant about asking if I want kids.

"You-your pregnant? Wait your dropping out of college for a baby?!" I yell
"Yes." She says quietly
"Why can't your mum just look after it and then you can stay in college!"
"I don't want to go back to college. I want to be a mother to this baby! With or without you, I will have support form my family and friends either way!"

I get up and walk out, storm down stairs and get on my old motorcycle.

She's pregnant, and giving up college for the baby. I don't care what she chooses but I'm not dropping out. I need college.

I start to drive, anywhere. Sitting on this motorcycle is replaying some memories.

Memory
Me and betty spent all the time we could together even if we weren't together. She told me She would always text me and I said I'll try and text her back. We are leaving today, we are all outside saying our goodbyes.
"See you in a couple of months Fp, make sure to look after your family." Alice says giving My dad a kiss.
"See you Alice, love you." I can see Alice crying and they move over to his motorcycle.
Betty watches me as I  fix my  bag on the back of my motorcycle.
"Jug, good luck and look after JellyBean, I'm going to miss you so much." She says as I see tears fall.
"Betts, you and my family and friends is what keeps me going on, I'm going to miss you so much but I want you to move on if I'm not back for a while, I want to be with you, but I want what's best for you, don't wait for me, who knows how long I'll be gone for."
"Jug just shut up," she says and kisses me, "I'll wait for you."
I give her a hug and get on my motorcycle and starts the engine. We start our goodbyes.

Another memory
Betty meets me by my motorcycle outside.
"Wait your not serious!" She says laughing
"What? How else will we get there?"
"Um a cab maybe?"
"Nah I don't want to waste any money when I can use it for the date!"
"Ugh okay but drive slow!"
"It's actually more dangerous that way, I have to go fast."
"Ugh I'm not gonna like this!"
"We'll see Betty!"
She gets on the back and I place my helmet on her.
"What about you?"
"You need it more then I do."
She smiles at my concern and i get on in front and She holds onto me.
We start going
"I love this!" Betty shouts into the wind
"I knew you would!"
We get to a beach with no one there.
"Ooo Jug what's this?"
"You'll see."

Back to present

The good times. No baby. No break ups.
I want to go back to there. I want to be with Betty, but If she's giving up her life for this baby, I don't know what to say, or do.

So as usual I go to the one place I can forget everything, a bar.

Betty POV
He yelled at me, told me not to give up my life for this baby, but I want to. I've always loved kids and to have my own, I'll do everything for it.

I guess jug left to go to a bar and wash away his problems, it's a normal thing now for him to just drink. He always said to me, "I'll never turn out like my dad a drunken, poor, good for nothing gang member and don't care about my family."

I mean he loves his dad a lot now but before he was like that and jug I have news for you, your halfway there.
