Baby project: a bughead story

12 weeks

Betty POV
Since he left I've been missing jug, I've not been feeling amazing but now I've got my 12 weeks scan and I'm feeling better already.

Me and jug have called once or twice and when I bring up school, because I'm still concerned about the Abby situation, he doges my questions.

Jughead POV
Schools been really good, it's annoying Veronica or reg and Betty isn't here anymore but it's going okay. Apart from Abby.

She somehow heard about my break up with Betty and has been really close to me. I can't just get away from her, I see her in all my classes now, she probably transferred.

And I haven't told Betty, because Abby was part the reason we broke up, and if she's really close and Betty is pregnant with my baby, stress isn't good, i guess you could say I've researched a bit on how to be a dad.

But the 12 week scan is tomorrow and I'm packing now to leave, ready to leave mid-day tomorrow

Betty POV
With the 12 week tomorrow I'm kind of scared. I want everything healthy, and I want jug there.
I also want to tell him how I feel.

The pembrooke isn't too bad either, lots of room and there is a spare for maybe a nursery.

I've also been texting Josie a bit about me, jug and the baby. She's becoming a really good friend to me.

Next day:
Today I'm having my 12 week scan, I'm actually a bit nervous. It's booked a little later in the day so jug can make it on time.

I get ready and head to pops for a breakfast before my shift. I don't see anyone there just pop.
"Hello Betty bit early?"
"Yeah I have a scan today, so I got up early to have an earlier shift with you so I can then leave but still do my shift."
"Ah that's okay then, what would you like?"
"I'm actually craving cake right now."
"Then cake it is!"
I love pop!

I start my shift and wait for a text from jug to say he's here, we were meant to meet here an hour before the appointment.

It's now an hour before the appointment and nothing.

30mins and nothing

20mins and nothing.

I have to go to the appointment now, I just cannot believe he isn't here, for his baby's appointment. To see our baby.

Jughead POV
It's like today, life is trying to not let me go to the appointment, it's throwing me obstacles as I'm trying to go.

First Abby, she was talking constantly to me and getting in my way
Then it was running out of gas for my motorcycle halfway
My phone died
Then traffic.

I just managed to make it outside riverdale with only 3mins till the appointment. I'm hoping to make it for the sake of Betty.

Betty POV
Jughead didn't turn up. And now I'm in the doctors office.
"Hello to you, alone?" The doctor says
"Yeah. Father couldn't make it."
"Oh well I can print two photos for you?"
"Thanks."
"So I'm doctor Price I'll be doing your appointments from now on until labour. Now can you see your baby, right..... there" he says and points at my baby.

I start crying, happy tears, that's my baby!
"Is it okay?"
"It's okay. Healthy and strong!"
"Okay, when do I book another appointment?"
"I could do it now, I would like to check again at 16 weeks then again at 20 when we can find out gender if you wish to."
"Yeah that will be great."

I get cleaned up and changed and go out the office.
"Betty!" I hear from behind
I freeze, he's here.
"Betty! I'm so sorry, there was traffic and my phone died!"
"Any more excuses Jughead! Why you couldn't come today!"
"I'm not lying, I swear I wanted to come!"
"You could have left earlier! Or yesterday!"
"I had school yesterday and I planned it out that I was going to make it on time!"
"Yeah.... well here's your baby!" I say throwing the sonogram at him.
He catches it and I turn away and walk out.

Jughead POV
I catch the sonogram she throws at me and I look at it, that's my baby, that is my baby!

I feel tears form in my eyes. Betty asked another one for me. I've screwed up even more now. Sh*t.

I go back to my motorcycle and drive to my dad and Alice's house.
"Boy! Are you serious?" My dad yells
"She told you!"
"She came here crying, she wanted you there!"
"I wanted to be there believe me! I should have come earlier!"
"Damn right you should have!"
"Let me talk to her!"
"No boy! Leave her alone for now, you don't want to push it."
"Fine dad. I'll try talk to her later, I'm just gonna, go somewhere."

I leave the house and get on my motorcycle, I need to talk to someone and that person happens to be staying here in Riverdale, it's later now in the evening.

"Hey V!" I say entering the pembrooke
"Jughead! You didn't go?!" Ugh she's angry too.
"I was a bit late."
"A bit late! A bit! God jug you've screwed up!"
"I know I have. I just wanted to talk."
"Fine. I'm sorry for shouting, talk."
"I want to be with Betty again."
"Wait! Seriously! She wants to be with you too!" She shouts then covers her mouth, "er you didn't happen to hear that?"
"She what!"
"She wants to be with you." She repeats
"I need to go!"
"Yes go! Be with her!"

I run to my motorcycle as fast as I can, at this point betty should be at pops, on a late shift.
I head there and see no customers,I can see her, she's cleaning up.

Betty POV
It's late and there are no customers so I'm cleaning up for the night. I'm mopping the floors now. Then I hear the bell for the door go, I turn to Jughead.

"What are you doing here?"
"I'm sorry for not telling you about Abby and the play. I'm sorry for not telling you how beautiful you are everyday. I'm sorry for not helping you through your pain. I'm sorry for not responding to your messages when my mum died. I'm sorry for yelling at you." What's he doing? Every sorry he moves closer to me.
"I'm sorry for making you not feel good. I'm sorry for not being there for you and the baby. I'm sorry for overreacting. I'm sorry for not telling you how much I love you everyday." He finally says before kissing me, and I kiss back
