Baby project: a bughead story

A night well never forget

Jughead POV
It's now been a few days, Veronica and Reggie aren't here they have gone to New York to see her parents but before they left they told us they are having a boy.

I want to ask Betty tonight. And I'm a nervous wreck. So I've gone to my dads and Alice's now to tell them.

"Dad? You in?"
"Ah jug! No he'll be back soon, what up? Is Betty okay?" Alice says worried
"She's great don't worry, I actually wanted to ask you something."
"We'll go ahead, do you want a drink?"
"No I'm okay. Tonight I want to ask Betty to marry me."
"Oh my...... well if your looking for permission go ahead, I love how you look after Betty, your practically family!" She says happily and giving me a big hug

"What's happening here, leaving me for the younger version Alice?" My dad says behind.
"No not at all Fp!" Alice says crying happy tears
"I'm gonna ask Betty to marry me."
"Yes! I've been waiting since you guys got together! My boys all grown up!" My dad cheers
"Your what!!" Polly says from behind
"I'm gonna ask Betty to marry me."
"Eeeekkkkkk omg I can't wait!" Polly squeals then tackles me with a hug
"I'm hoping to tonight." I say
"Right Jones you listen here and listen good!" Polly says threatening

My dad and Alice take a step back from her and I stand here, I guess a bit scared,
"If you break her heart forsythe, I will hunt you down, kill you, chop you into bits and feed you to the dogs!"

"Okay! Okay! I won't!" I reassure her
"Ah good then." She calms a bit down
"Right so I'm going to go, I need to set up and then ask her there to propose I guess." I say
"Good luck!!" They all shout

I drive to the lock bridge, Polly was going on her way to Betty so that Betty wasn't lonely or looking for me. Alice is helping me by saying I'm working giving me the perfect alibi to where I was.

I find our lock, still there and perfect. I set up the lights all around and other things.

Ugh I'm so nervous, but I love her and she loves me so it should be okay. It should be okay. Okay. Okay! I can do this!

I head back and meet up with Betty at pops.
"Hey Betts!"
"Hey jug! She's really hungry for a double burger so came to the place she loves the most."
"We'll just like me I guess, loves a good burger!" I say sitting opposite her.
"Well how was work?"
"Work?" Wait she thinks I was working, "oh yeah sorry just a bit tired, but I'm not so tired that I want to ask my favourite girl out on a date?"
"Well of course I'll go! We haven't had one since....."
"Since we last broke up."
"Yeah.... well this one will be a great date,one to remember I hoped!"
Oh she doesn't even know.
"Yeah Betts, it'll be a night we'll never forget."
"Ooo I'm excited well once I'm done eating I'll get ready to go then we can leave, does 7:30 sound good?"
"Great!"

We finish our food and she goes back to the apartment to get ready.

Betty POV
I go home to get ready for my date with jug, having a baby this may be the last date for a while.

I do my hair nice and down, I only keep it down for certain occasions. I put on a nice spring dress and take a look at my bump in the mirror.

Damn it's big now, 10 weeks to go! Everything is good now. I just hope they catch my dad before I give birth he said he'll want to meet his grandchild and we'll I'm scared with that. I don't want him anywhere near her.

I do finishing touches and makeup then I wait for jug to pick me up.

Jughead POV
I eventually finish up and drive on the motorcycle to meet Betty, in the same outfit as I had for our first date.

I see Betty waiting and when she sees the motorcycle she looks worried.
"Is that okay for the baby?" She says
"It's fine honestly, you can go at the front and drive if you want?"
"No it's okay, I forgot how to use that thing anyway!" Oh yeah I taught her she just hasn't been on it in ages
She gets in the back and I feel our baby on my back.

We start to drive off.
"Hey jug, why are we going out of town?"
"We are going to a place I took you on our first date, think of this as a remake of it?"
"I noticed it's the same clothes as our first."

We get to the beach with that clearing to the area we had a picnic, with a picnic waiting for us there.
"Oh jug, this is a remake!"
"Well let's eat, I brought pops burgers instead of that crappy cafe stuff they have here."
"Well you daughter will be happy with you!"

Daughter. I have a daughter. I'm a father. It's just hit me. 10 weeks till my responsibilities come.

"I hope she will be."

We have dinner and watch the sun set just like last time.
We drive away after and go to the lock bridge.

"Oh jug the lock bridge!"
"Yep and I have a new lock for you to put hanging onto ours."
I get of the motorcycle and give her another pink heart shaped lock and a pen, she writes 'Juliet', the name we are giving to her. She locks it on and hugs me.
"This is the best date ever! The fairy light? You got it all right! How could it get any better?!" Betty exclaims

"Well actually Betty,  look I love you, I knew from the moment I met you that you were the one for me, we are having a baby together, we've been through break ups and make ups. We've fought off each others demons and made it to where we are now. I love our life, you and our baby. I wouldn't change how we got here today and I know I'm happy with you and only you. In the future we'll face ups and downs but we'll get through it. Betty I don't know how much more I'll say it, but I love you more that anything and I'll love this baby just as much. Betty Cooper will you marry me?"
I kneel down and open the ring box.

Betty POV

".... Betty Cooper will you marry me?"
He kneels down and opens a ring box. It's the most beautiful ring ever. I start crying and nod quite heavily.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! A million times yes! Jug I love you! Yes I'll marry you!" I squeal and jump into his arms and kiss him. He places the ring on my finger and I feel a kick as we kiss again.
"She knows." He says
