Coming back down to the living room in purple fluffy pjs and matching slippers, I plonked myself on the sofa beside Daniel. He'd just finished talking to Harry and I was eager to hear he was okay. It was now late afternoon and I was starving, "I could eat a horse" I exclaimed with my stomach growling on cue.
"We don't have horses but I'm sure I could find you something yummy," Daniel tucked his phone back in his pocket before standing up. "What else do you fancy?"
"That's okay I can get something myself," before I could get up Daniel was standing in the doorway to the kitchen.
"Nope you are gonna relax and let someone else cook for you, plus watch this" he took one step backwards and a hand pushed him back to the living room. "See Bea is cooking I think it's bolognese."
"It is!" Bea called from the kitchen.
I let out a laugh feeling more relaxed as Daniel, clearly banished from the kitchen rejoined me on the sofa. They smile on my face faded as I worked up the courage to ask "is Harry mad at me?"
Daniel's eyes widened before a soft concerned expression blanketed his face. "No he's worried you're mad, I told him you're not. His temper does sometimes get the better of him but that's not excuse for yelling at you." Taking my hand gently he added "he might be my alpha but I'd kick his ass for you," he chuckled letting my hand go. "I told him to cool off before even thinking of coming here." Harry did listen to Daniel but I was surprised he'd listen in this situation.
"Maybe I'm not ready to be marked by him," I mumbled mostly to myself.
"If you're not ready tell him but being ready doesn't mean being submissive to him. You still get to be you, remember that" he stretched his arms behind his own head and and leaned back.
Daniel was right and I did feel ready up until the yelling. I got where Harry was coming from but he knew better too.
The scent of fresh garlic bread wafted through to the living room making my stomach growl now longingly for food. Daniel looked at me with a grin then called out to Bea, "how long till the foods ready?"
"Amy can come in not you," she called back. I smiled heading to the kitchen to join Bea. "Help yourself to garlic bread," she was busy draining the spaghetti.
I picked up a slice of the garlic bread ready to eat, the first bite was ridiculously delicious. "Oh god this is good," I giggled between bites.
"Good, I cook a lot here" Bea was really sweet. I knew she could cook but dam this was like food of the gods. She walked to the doorway and called out to the entire house "foods ready!" Within seconds the drum of feet running to the dining room echoed through the pack house.
