Pulling into the pack house driveway, over the gravel I let out a long sigh. Daniel switched the ignition off and looked over at me, "everything alright?"
"Yeah...yeah I'm good just..." I let myself smile then reached for his hand. "I can face anything with you," I had to start forcing the smile which he noticed.
"I've got something to show you," climbing out of the car we both headed inside. He then led me up the stairs. When we reached the bottom of the last flight up to the Alpha master room I stopped. Daniel looked back at me and gently squeezed my hand, "ready?"
Taking a hesitant step back I let go of his hand, "I'm sorry" I muttered.
"What are you sorry for?" He asked softly, taking my hands back into his.
"I'm sorry because I know whatever you've done is going to be amazing but I..." looking up the stairs to the door I flinched back pulling my hands away from Daniel. He stepped towards me then slowly gently sat me down on the stairs leading to the room.
Kneeling down so he was at her eye level then reaching across to cup her face he let out a short sigh. "Amy if you're not ready it's okay but don't be sorry," I could tell there was something he wanted to add. Shaking his head he looked me in the eye "this is hard to say...I think you have PTSD." Quickly he took my hands "it's not a bad thing and it's not your fault. I just think knowing how to handle it, maybe having some uh ways to counteract the reactions that you feel you have to apologise for; which first of all you shouldn't because none of it is your fault."
I squeezed his hands "I kind of thought that was what it was. I mean...." I let out a shuddered sigh dropping my head "I'm broken now."
He lightly guided my chin back up "broken is not a word I'd use to describe the woman I love." We both cracked tiny smiles, he let out a chuckle. "We can work out things that work for you as we go, I am hoping the room is the first step to really changing things for the better." Standing he held out a hand for me, "ready?"
Nodding I took his hand allowing him to pull me into his arms. We then headed up the stairs. One hand was shaking while the other clutched on to Daniel's hand, my breathing had become a little shallow but as Daniel opened the door my breath was taken away completely.
