Chapter 55

"They were angels," I smiled handing back Alice as Daniel and Callum attempted to get her big brother's shoes on. "Honestly if you need babysitters ever again we'd be happy to step in," I happily offered.
"Thank you. It was good to have a night to ourselves but the silence was awful," Courtney laughed. Michael hid behind her legs as Callum and Daniel tried to corner him. Courtney placed a hand on his head "come on we have to go home now." Smiling sweetly he went to sit on the bottom stair allowing Callum to finally put his shoes on. "Now say thank you and bye," she softly commanded.
Standing up he grinned up at me and Daniel, who was now stood beside me and said "thank you. Bye bye" he giggled waving then darting towards the front door. Callum went after him as the rest of us walked to catch up.
Waving our goodbyes we then went back inside I partly collapsed on the sofa. Daniel sat on the arm of the sofa as I lay down and yawned. He smiled down at me "so when do you want some of your own?"
"You mean our own," I grinned. His eyes widened and I quickly sat up. "Uh I mean..."
Putting a hand on my arm he smiled "it's okay if that's what you really mean. This is all at your pace remember," he sat beside me.
I leaned into him "I'm scared to let myself hope. I know it's stupid."
"It's not stupid, but please don't let that fear stop hope." Looking up at him I felt like crying but in a good way. "Come on why not tomorrow I drive you back to the base, then you spend the week with your dad and me and the guys can sort the room upstairs?"
"Are you sure?" I asked not wanting to be any kind of burden.
"Yes of course I'm sure." He stood up "I'll sort everything but before any of that I'm taking you for brunch." Without waiting for a response he pulled me up into his arms. "For the record I constantly think about us having little ones." Planting a kiss on my forehead I melted into his chest.
"Maybe one day we will have a few. I kind of always had an image in my head of kids but that was with Harry." I knew I'd tensed up as Daniel was trailing his hand in circles on my lower back. I let the motion sooth me, I wanted to ask him something but I didn't feel ready just yet.
