Standing alone in the study I stared down at the open book that Norah had brought over. Apparently Puck had told her about the smoke man and she had thought I might want to know more. The sketch in the middle of the page was eerily accurate, including the slight grin on his face. The door started to creak open and I quickly slammed the book shut just in time for Daniel to come in.
Frowning at me he took the book and placed it on one of the shelves. "Staring at it is not helping you feel better or get through what happened," he huffed frustrated with me. "I'm not frustrated with you, I'm worried about you." He came round the desk and pulled me into his arms, holding me against his chest. "We've got the little one to think about now. Things are gonna be good from now on so there is no reason to dwell on it any longer."
Holding onto his shirt I looked up at him, "what if we have a girl and she is in danger?"
Daniel cupped my face "they'll have to go through her momma and even I'm afraid to cross her," his playful grin comforted me. "Not only that but she'll have an army of little brothers ready to kick anyone and everybody's butt."
This earned him an audible chuckle as I buried my face in his shirt, "why are you so confident?" I mumbled.
Lifting my chin so I was looking into his eyes he growled deeply, "because I got you pregnant first time."
I knew I was blushing which only deepened when he pressed a hot kiss to my lips. Closing my eyes I enjoyed the moment as he slipped his hands on my bum and lifted me up onto the desk. "Daniel....you can't....get me....more....pregnant..." I said between kisses.
"It's worth a try," he purred smiling into my lips.
