Daniel answered the door as I was stood out in the back garden. I was nervous about meeting with Puck's friends, more nervous than I'd previously thought I was. The sound of a groan and short steps behind me made me turn around. Alistair was dragging himself towards me. "Seriously you can't even just sit?" I smiled a little.
"Hey I can see my Cubby is bothered by something," he reached me putting a hand on my shoulder. "So what's up?"
"I dunno, I guess I'm just wishing I didn't have to deal with any of this" I confessed.
He looked up at the sky "you know I think it's like becoming a parent." I raised an eyebrow at him as he met my gaze, "hang on bare with me. For example I did not feel ready to take you on. I always felt I was making mistakes with you, but now I can say I did a dam good job." We walked slowly back inside "you will keep feeling the urge to run but you are more than capable of getting through this."
"Thanks dad," I gave him a short hug before guiding him back to the dining room. Daniel and Puck were chatting while Puck's friends stood behind the chairs opposite to where Alistair now sat down. "Uh evening everyone, thank you for coming. If you'd all like to take a seat."
One of the men stepped forward "allow me to introduce myself and my family. My name is Axel, this" the woman beside him stepped closer to him, "is my wife Norah and these are our children."
The two young men leaning against the wall stood up straight and both bent there heads in a bow, "I'm Dante and this is Dash."
Then the young girl just on the other side of the couple stepped up "I'm Eliza." She was much more timid than her brothers energy gave off.
"Thank you for coming, I know you don't know me but...." I started.
"No we don't know you," Norah began "but we've seen this before. We helped..." she stopped herself giving her husband Axel a look, "as much as we could the young girl from before and William."
"We want to help," added Dante.
"Yes we want to stop the darkness," pitched in Dash.
"Forgive our sons," Axel groaned "there brashness can be mistaken for bravery. We have faced many reincarnations of EOM. This one he's unhinged," he glanced over at Alistair and the two exchanged a knowing look. This was not going to be easy.
