Chapter 73

Laying in bed I stared up at the ceiling holding the quilt over my chest. As I loudly sighed Daniel emerged from the bathroom drying his hair with a towel. "That was a dramatic sigh," he commented sitting beside me on the bed. I pulled on his arm so he tumbled now laying beside me. "Hey I was gonna get in bed eventually," he chuckled.
"I know I'm just impatient," nuzzling his side I smiled holding onto his arm tightly.
"Impatient is the last thing you are," he pulled me on top of him so I was straddling him. Staring at me with a dopey grin he mumbled "god you're so beautiful." The silk night dress I was wearing had slipped off one of my shoulders, with the softest of touches Daniel slipped the strap back on my shoulder. With one hand on my hip the other slipped up to cup my face.
"What?" I asked blushing.
"So many times I imagined what it would be like to have you. Now I know what heaven is like," he was grinning as he pulled me down to a kiss.
"You...are....so cheesy," I said between kisses. Rolling off his chest I let out a short laugh, as he held me close to his side.
"Puck is going to take Alistair out tomorrow night so we're alone for...." He sat up leaving me lying in the bed. "Are you sure you're ready? If you're not it'll be okay..."
I sat up quickly climbing over him so my legs were round his waist. "I'm ready," I took hold of his face in both hands "I love you. I know and trust you. Yes I'm terrified that it will happen again but that's not because I don't trust you and because I know that I know I'm ready despite the pain and scars in my head." Gently taking the back of my head he pressed in for a kiss, the other hand slipped up pressing on my lower back.
Trailing kisses to my ear he whispered "you make me want to mark you right now." I shivered grinning as I leaned back holding his shoulders. "I should have told you before he marked you," his hand drifted over the now scarred remains of Harry's hold on me. His eyes were on it too for a moment, "I let you down too many times."
I bent my head so I caught his gaze "don't be like that, you didn't let me down. I put you in the worst position, but now" I smiled. "Now we can be happy and safe, that is as soon as this dooms day crap is over."
