"Hey kiddo?" Alistair carefully waved a mug of coffee in front of my face as I opened my eyes. I took the mug and sipped happily. "Daniel will be here soon, you should shower and change" he was now tying up a black bin bag.
Standing up I gulped down another mouthful of coffee then placed it on my desk. "Thanks for the wake up juice," grinning I headed to the bathroom.
Alistair called after me "I'll get rid of this and meet you in the loading bay."
"Okay," I shouted back closing the bathroom door behind me. Getting a quick shower, I then dressed in my bedroom. I went for jeans and a grey tank top with red hooded jacket. Packing a bag with some of my personal stuff I then packed clothes in a duffel bag. Checking my reflection I smiled excited to be seeing Daniel, I knew fine well I'd have to hold myself back. I was brought out of my own thoughts by my phone buzzing on my desk. Without looking I answered "hello?"
"Hey kid," Puck spoke clearly. "How you doing?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine" overwhelmed but fine.
"Good...good, hey I've got some old friends who might be helpful. I'll bring them over to the pack house," I could hear voices in the background but couldn't quiet make them out.
"Yeah okay sure," I replied half heartedly. "Bring them over tomorrow," I wanted time with Daniel to figure things out first.
"Okay no problem kid, see you tomorrow" he hung up without waiting for my response. Shrugging my shoulders I finished packing my bags and headed out and up to the loading bays. It was like more and more new information was threatening to overwhelm me.
Ding! The lift doors opened allowing me to step inside. I threw my duffel bag into the corner and pulled out my phone, not to do anything with except hold. As though sensing my urgency the time moved slow as the lift moved upwards. Finally the doors opened again, I grabbed the duffel bag and walked out.
Daniel was leaning against the side of his car happily chatting to Alistair. For a blissful moment I watched the two of them talking as though there was no impending doom. Daniel glanced my way, our eyes focused on one another and I found myself blushing. I closed the remaining space between us, as he took my bags putting them in the boot of the car.
"We'll get together tomorrow," Alistair said forcing me into a little hug. He grinned widely "go enjoy some time together." We said our goodbyes then climbed in the car waving to Alistair as Daniel pulled out of the base.
