Chapter 49

"Wait what?" I slumped onto the bed and rubbed my temples. "So I do get a second chance? And it's with you? Does anyone else know? Is this common? Did Harry know?"
Daniel sat on the bed with me and took my hands "hey slow down." He chuckled with a grin on his face, "yes you get a second chance and yes with me but we don't have to become anything if you don't want to." His grin faded "I've done so much research but this is rare, very rare." Squeezing my hands gentle he let out a sigh "Harry knew, I think he was harder on you because of it. I also told Becca and Alistair but that was after I'd got drunk so don't know exactly what I said to them, and again we don't have to become anything..."
I wrapped my arms round his waist, hugging him tightly. "That's what you meant about second chance," I felt so stupid I hadn't realised before. His arms slipped round me holding my body close to his. "I'm sorry I didn't realise what you meant before."
Daniel chuckled "don't be sorry. I wanted to give you a way out, hope. Anything to get you away from him," he pulled back balling his fists up. I could sense the anger in him growing like a storm.
Taking one of his fists I brought it up to my lips placing a soft kiss to his knuckles. "Please don't get angry." He uncurled his fist to cup my cheek.
We stayed like that looking into each other's eyes until there was a quiet knock on the door. Daniel dropped his hand from my cheek. Creaking open Bea poked her head in "hey hope I'm not interrupting but Alistair is here and a few people are leaving."
"Okay will be down in a minute," I smiled cheerfully at Bea as she shut the door again. "Well guess we should face my people," I poked his chest playfully.
Standing up he held out a hand for me, "my lady?" I took his hand and he pulled me up into his chest. "I'd like to kiss you again." I knew I was blushing because a huge grin grew on Daniel's face. He slipped his hand in mine with stillness between us. "Uh," he chuckled.
Springing up on my tip toes I placed a kiss on his cheek, "come on. They'll all start to wonder what we are doing." Together we left the room and headed down stairs.
