The pack house was filled with laughter and music as everyone enjoyed the more official new beginnings celebration. Yet I stood outside the front of the house, on the steps feeling a crushing sense of impending doom. Sitting on the stone steps I tried to banish all of my dark thoughts by imagining a bright future, a future with Daniel. It seemed strange that so much had changed in so little time. Which made my mind drifted to questioning my own judgement, were there any signs I should have noticed or probably paid attention to more.
Shaking my head I was pulled back to reality by a familiar car growling into the driveway. Harry raged out of the drivers seat straight towards me, "bitch!" Growled passed his lips. I didn't have time to even stumbled back inside when he grabbed me hair, dragging me down into the gravel. All the way he was growling "this is all your fault. What the fuck did you tell her!?"
Every adult member of the pack appeared outside, Daniel and Alistair in front of everybody else. Daniel loudly growled "let her go Harry!" A hint of fear in his voice, fear that added to my own as Harry held me up by my neck. Desperately I held onto his wrist trying to lessen the bruising he was causing.
"Harry let her go, don't do this" Alistair spoke calmly taking a step closer to us.
"I don't think so brother," Harry turned slightly as a man who looked similar to Alistair stepped through the gates into the gravel driveway. He had an arrogant stride that if I hadn't been in fear I would have rolled my eyes at him.
"Alex," Alistair breathed heavily.
Ignoring Alistair, Alex spoke directly to Harry "I don't care what you do to her just don't kill her." Producing a small pistol Alex turned his attention to the pack. Harry threw me to the ground with little effort, I went to run but Alex casually pointed the gun at me. "Now now don't....."
Alistair came running forward grabbing the hand Alex had the gun in. They began to go back and forth as a distracted Harry was tackled by Felix and Bea while Daniel grabbed me. I struggled against Daniel, I had to help Alistair. The air flashed silent as a deafening bang vibrated through us all. My heart stopped as my eyes locked with Alistair he dropped, his body crumpling to the ground.
